"Thought I saw a girl brought to life, she was warm, she came around, she was dignified..." Liam sang, while Niall strummed on his guitar. The gig was tomorrow and we were, quite frankly, shitting bricks. We had been set ten songs which we had learnt off by heart and to be honest, we sounded pretty good. Liam and Harry were great singers and Zayn and Niall's voices surprised me. I knew I could sing, but I doubted I was good as the rest of them. We didn't actually have a proper place to rehearse so we were currently in Harry's stepdad, Robin's bungalow. We had been working hard at this, I really wanted to impress Emma.

"Oh Torn...." Harry ended. We looked at each other, we were pleased.

"Right so that's Torn completely finished, we've also completed Marry You, Only Girl, All About You and Nothing, so that leaves Free Fallin', Shooting Star, Grenade, Use Somebody and Valerie.." Zayn said, checking them off with his fingers. We all murmured in agreement, we could do this, I know we could.

"So, is Emma still with this Owen guy?" Liam asked me, flicking his fringe out of his eyes. His hair was a big part of his life, it had gone from Bieber to curly to short and now it was back to Bieber.

"Yeah, I dunno what she sees in him, he sounds like a complete twat." I said delicately.

"Ooh, Louis' jealous!" Zayn teased, ruffling my hair. I shrugged.

"Well from what I've heard, he's cancelled his plans, he's going to be there tomorrow." Niall told me. My jaw dropped. Ah shit.

"Shit, serious? Oh my god, did she invite him? Does she realise how awkward that will be? Ah I'm so angry!" I shouted, storming out of the room. Girls. All they do is mess up your head. That's what Eleanor did, and Abby, and Stacy. All my ex girlfriends had messed with my heart. Told me they loved me then ran off with the next boy. Harry used to be like that with girls, until he met Katie. She was dating a south African guy who'd moved over here at the time, his name was Cedric, Harry was so unbelievably jealous of him. Katie and Harry had been going out for eight months now, almost a pregnancy as Bella called it.

I got home that night and had a long shower, as I rubbed my carrot scented shampoo into my soaking wet hair, I worried about my clothes for tomorrow. We were all wearing suits with skinny black ties as Harry thought it would look "cool". I'm pretty certain Emma and the girls will be wearing dresses. I wonder what her dress will look like, I hope it's a bright colour to match her personality, like purple or something. Katie will probably be in something black and lacy, typically. Bells will be most likely in blue, Emily in green and Amy? White. She always wore white. She still wasn't going out with Liam. He needs to grab her while he can.

"Night mum!" I called down the hall.

"Night BooBear!" she replied. Cringe. She always called me that in front of the lads, so embarrassing.

I climbed into my bed, under the dark blue covers, my eyes scanning over the guitar hanging on the wall along with my Boyce Avenue and The Fray posters. There were a few cheeky ones of Emma Watson and Megan Fox up there too. But what can you say? I'm a teenage boy, nearly eighteen. I tossed and turned in my bed, I wanted to sleep but I was nervous, nervous about performing tomorrow, about seeing Emma, about meeting Owen, the guy of her dreams. Her prince charming. I wish that was me.

My alarm clock went off loudly at half past nine the following morning. I shot out of bed, grabbed a cup of tea and got dressed in my suit. I grabbed the car keys to my pickup and drove to Emma's house. I sat in the car for ten minutes fixing my hair before I would actually go inside. I straightened my fringe with my fingers and got out of the car. I took a deep breath before knocking on the door. A middle aged woman with brown hair and Emma's eyes answered the door.

"Oh hello! I'm Lisa, Emma's mum! Sorry but who are you?"

"Nice to meet you, I'm Louis. Louis Tomlinson. I'm one of the band members. Sorry, I'm slightly early, the rest of the lads will be here soon." I reassured her.

"Lovely to meet you Louis. Come on in!" she said leading me inside. Wow her house is huge. She must be really rich. I walked carefully across the seagreen carpet towards the kitchen. I immediately spotted Emma. She was wearing a beautiful strapless blue dress that ended just above her knee with a silver beaded belt and silver heels. She looked stunning with her long hair straightened. She was surrounded by some boys and girls I didn't know. I began silently praying that this wouldn't be awkward. I walked up to her confidently.

"Hey Emma." I stuttered. She turned around and her eyes lit up.

"LOU!" she shrieked, throwing her arms around my neck. I hugged her back and kissed her quickly on the cheek.

"These are my friends from Manchester! There's PJ and Alex and Tom and Rebekah and Danny and Kelly and Dougie!" they all mumbled hello to me.

"Guys, this is Louis, one of my new friends!" she said excitedly.

I looked at them. PJ had bright blue eyes, straight dark hair and pale complexion. She was snuggled up to Alex who scared me a tiny bit. Tom grinned at me, he had bleach blonde hair and a never-ending chin. Rebekah looked shy, she had blue eyes, rosy cheeks and long light brown hair. Danny just looked too cool, Dougie was pretty much the same. Kelly smiled at me, she had shoulder length blonde hair. They all looked like nice people. Except Alex. He scared me.

"Owen's coming." she whispered to me. I pulled a face.

"Is he your boyfriend or what?" I asked.

"He's not my boyfriend, he's... Well it's complicated. It's very on/off." she muttered.

"What about us?" I asked, biting my lip.

"I don't know, Lou. I like you. A lot. But I have Owen too and I'm confused."

I sighed and sat awkwardly for the next ten minutes watching Emma joke with Rebekah and Kelly until the boys came.

"Hey boys! Guys this is Harry, Niall, Zayn and Liam!" Emma said. Alex glared at Niall, who looked like he just shit his nicks.

We sloped off to the little platform to get mics etc and that's when I noticed that Liam's eyes were red.

"Lee, you alright mate?" I asked. The boys all shuffled awkwardly.

"Amy ditched me," he sniffed, "apparently I didn't get her at the right time or something." I pulled him in for a bear hug.

More and more people arrived, mostly middle-aged men and women.

"EMMA! Oh god I've missed you babe!" I looked round, Emma was wrapped around sone tall guy. Eugh, Owen.
