I stare at him in shock. He's here. I was told he would never get me again. The untouched glass that I never took a sip of drops out of my hand. The glass shatters into a million pieces. The water drips down the hall and into the nearest cell.
I hear the the people in the cells start to stir awake.
Help. I want to scream. But, they can't help me. They never could. Nobody ever could.
'Hello, darling.' His voice makes shivers erupt across my body.
I don't say a word. Either I'm too stunned from shock or I'm in a nightmare that won't take me out.
'Say something.' He roars in the hallway, his voice echoing down the hall.
The people in the cells are walking as close as they can to the outside. Looking between me and him, think about what should I do.
'Run, Avalon.' A voice that is tiny with fright says.
But, what are they frightened of? They are safe from him inside the cell.
Something snaps me. Something snaps me out of the trace I was previously in and I am lead to see myself running back to where I was coming from.
It won't open.
It won't open.
Why?
Why now?
I feel my heart. I feel my heart beating out of my chest and I'm scared it will come out.
'Run, Avalon' Is all I hear around me.
'Run.'
Turning around I see that he hasn't moved an inch. He stands there. Waiting. Watching.
The door won't open.
Walking straight moving to the pieces of the discarded glass. Standing. Waiting, just like he.
