"You don't understand, Alex. Please, listen to me!" Colton Simmons, Alexis' current soon to be ex, begged. "I saw you shamelessly flirting with that girl! And the next day I find you making out on my couch? What the hell, Colton! I don't want to hear your bullshit!" Alexis screamed, fresh tears falling freely from her pale face. "Alexis! I swear, she just pushed herself on me! I didn't cheat!" He poorly defended himself. It wasn't the first time she had found him with another girl, either holding hands or kissing. "You've lied so many times in this relation ship. And what do I do? I forgive you! But you know what? I'm done. Get out." She spat, outraged. "But--" "Out!" She interrupted him. "Please, baby, I-" He started, before once again getting cut off by Alexis. "Don't call me that. Ever. Again. Out, now!" She fumed. His nostrils flared, while her teeth where clenched and eyes red, and narrowed. "Fine! Don't crawl back to me with your sorry ass, Alexis!" He yelled before slamming the door behind him. She collapsed to the ground, trying to sob her heartbreak away. I'm so stupid. I let this happen..' She quietly muttered, choking on hiccups. Letting out a scream of rage, she hit her small hand on the hard wooden floor, most likely leaving a bruise for tomorrow. With shaking hands, she reached into her desk by her bedside and grabbed her phone, dialing a number. Taking a deep breath, she waited for them to answer. "--Hello?" A cheery, familiar voice chirped through the device. "H-hey." She sniffed. "Alex? Are you okay? What happened?" Her best friend, Kara, squeaked, voice laced with concern. "Colton- he, um, he-" she started, getting interuppted by her uncontrollable sobbing. "I'm coming over now. You're at home, yeah?" Kara asked, distant sound of keys rattling over the speaker. "Yeah" Alexis responded, voice barely over a whisper. "I'll be over in 15, alright, stay there Alex." She replied, than hung up. Why she said she would be there in 15 minutes confused her. She only lived 5 minutes away. Was she busy doing something? Is it more important than her? A ding on her phone snapped her out of her daze, causing her to jump. Sighing, she picked up her phone the see a new message. I heard what happened. Are you okay?
A friend from her old school. How did she know? Who told her? She replied a quick, 'I'm fine'. Curiosity got the best of her, and she added, 'Who told you?'. 'Colton's brother.' 'K'. Of course he told his brother, the biggest jerk of all. Colton's brother never liked me, I could tell be the constant glares whenever I was around. It got to me sometimes, and I would get upset with myself. Colton would talk to me and eventually we made a saying. "No one can ever seperate us. We are inseparable." So much for that. To people around the two, they would think they were the perfect couple. Made to be. Meant for each other. 'You to are perfect for each other!' Or 'You make the cutest couple!'. Instead, they would have arguments over the little things, and often go to bed angry. Apologies were made later that night with heated events. What a stupid move. I shouldn't have forgave him. Ugh! A knock on the door interuppted her depressing thoughts, causing her to stand up, inwardly cursing at her weak legs. She made her way to the door, cautiously looking through the peeping hole for her ass of an ex, or his brother. She sighed in relief at the sight of her best friend. She unlocked the door, instantly embraced in a tight hug. "Sorry I'm late. Had to grab a few things." She smiled, pulling away and nodding towards the bags in her hands. Alexis' eyebrows furrowed, wandering what her friend did this time. Inviting herself in, Kara pushed into the kitched, setting the bags down and spinning around. "Spill." She demanded. "I saw him again Kara." She said, hoping she got the message, not really wanting to socialize. "Another girl? That bastard!" She fumed. Alexis nodded slightly, a tear betraying her and falling on her cheek. "Alex, I'm so sorry. He was a dick anyway." She smiled sadly. She accepted the embrace of a hug, returning it slowly. Her friend pulled away, and grabbed into the mystery bags. Pulling out some Gheradelli chocolate. "You need these." She responded, noticing the confused expression on Alexis' face. "Thank you, so much Kara. I don't know what I would do without you!" She squealed, grabbing the gorgeous bag of chocolate from Kara. "Die, probably." Kara responded, chuckling. Alexis just snorted in responce, grateful for her best friend. Who needs boys anyways? I don't.
