I opened the door fully, stepping right into filth. Cigaretes scattered across the carpet, accompanying the ash, which turned my white carpet into a dusty grey colour. Smashed alcohol bottles, cups, cans of beer and rubbish littered the floor. I looked around in horror. I couldn't believe that this was my house.
I continued looking around in disgust before I went into the kitchen, avoiding shards of glass, and liquid which stained the floor. After I looking at the filthy floor, my sight landed upon the familiar figure, who sat on the stool at the breakfast bar. I saw rings of smoke circling him. Everytime I stepped closer towards him, he reeked more and more of alcohol. I felt like puking.
“Peyton.” He said, turning around on his stool so he could face me. “You're finally back.” He said, giving me a crooked smile.
Meet my boyfriend Kieron. He's been my boyfriend for nearly a year now. I had met him when I had first moved to London.
*Flashback-about two years ago*
Today was the day I'd be moving in to my own house. I was super excited because before this, I was living with my parents. I got out of my car before rooting through my bag for the house key. Once I had found it, I walked up to the front door and unlocked the door. I left it open and admired my first very own house! I went back outside and opened the boot of the car. Every cardboard box came tumbling out and fell on the ground, contents spilling everywhere. Argh! I kneeled down and started putting items back into the correct boxes, when a person came and started helping me.
“Hey,” he said.
“Hi.” I said.
“I'm Kieron, I live opposite you.” He said, pointing to the house opposite mine. “I saw you struggling so I thought I'd help you.” He said, picking up some CD's.
“Thanks, I really appreciate it.” I smiled.
“No problem.” He said as he picked up one of the heavy boxes and took it into my house. He was nice.
*End of Flashback*
He had made me feel welcome and would always help me out, whenever I needed any help. When dating turned into a relationship, I came to terms with his bad habits of non-stop smoking and drinking. I had told him many times to stop, or even compromise to smoke and drink less but he just wouldn't listen. He'd always change the subject or just brush it off.
And now, it's become really bad and I just can't take it anymore.
“Peyton.” He said once again.
“How did you get inside the house?” I asked.
“I always had the spare key, remember.” He said. I mentally slapped myself for giving him the key to my house.
“Why are you in my house?” I asked.
“I thought I'd visit you.” He said. I clenched my fists, trying to control my anger.
“Kieron. Get. Out. Of. My. House.” I said slowly.
“Babe, what's up? Why are you acting like this?” He questioned, coming towards me. I could smell the alcohol on him.
“Kieron, get away from me.” I said. He came even closer and put his arms around my waist. “I said get away from me!” I shouted this time; pushing him away from me. He looked taken aback.
“Peyton, I came to see you because I haven't seen you in the last couple of days. Is that wrong?” He asked coming closer to me again.
“Kieron. I don't want to hear any of it. Just get out of my house!” I exclaimed. He came even closer, grabbed my shoulders and began shaking me.
“I'm your boyfriend Peyton, can't I even come to visit you?” He asked, angrily. “Who was that in the car?” He asked. Oh crap, he saw didn't he? “Who was it Peyton?” He growled.
“Err that was just. Just Maria, my friend.” I lied.
“It better have been.” He said, bringing his face dangerously close to mine.
“Now that I'm here anyway, let's spend some time together.” He said, snaking his arm around my waist. He grabbed my face and was about to forcefully kiss me. I lost it. I brought my hand up and it made contact with his face. Hard.
“Get out of my house!” I screamed pointing to the door. He spat on my kitchen floor before storming out of the house. I should've asked him for the key! I ran to the front door to see the key lying on the floor. I picked it up, shut the door, and let the tears tumble down my face.
I guess me and Kieron were not meant to be and it was about time I ended this relationship.
I analysed the mess. It would take me ages cleaning up this mess. I sighed before I began picking up the empty bottles and cans.

Hours later I looked at my spotless house. I glanced over at the time; it was 00:00. I realised that I was still soaking wet from earlier on this morning. I went into the bathroom and took a quick shower before I flopped on to my bed.
I went over everything that had happened. Started off so well with meeting Harry. Then it went all wrong from there; breaking up with Kieron.
I guess Kieron was just a phase in my life and I had to move on from him.
