"What do you say, Riles? You ready to unfold those hands of yours?"

In a fleeting moment Riley darts back to the open window, smiling down at the expectant boy. "Give me five minutes."

As she hastily looks through her wardrobe for some party appropriate attire, Maya gives her a thumbs up or down depending on the outfit.

Eventually she decides on a short black high-waisted skirt with a white v neck tucked inside. She throws on her jean jacket, a coat of mascara, grabs her lip gloss and awkwardly climbs through her bay window and shimmies down to where Lucas and Zay stood waiting.

"Hi." Lucas smiles once they're face to face, trying his best to ignore the fluttering feeling in his stomach.

"Hi." She replies, her eyes glancing toward Zay.

"Oh...this is Zay." He introduces them unnecessarily.

"Yeah I know." She smiles, waving at the boy who had a smirk on his face. "We've had classes together."

After a sufficient amount of awkward silence, the three of them quietly run over to Zay's car and drive off to the party.

Once they arrive Lucas and Zay escort her around trying not to make note of the side eye glances they were receiving from everyone there.

Riley wasn't very known in her school. In fact, she would argue she was invisible. Most of the people at the party either didn't know who she was or was confused by the fact that she was even attending, let alone with two star players on the football team.

"You want a drink or something?" Lucas asks, leaning in so she could hear him over the music.

His face being that close to hers made her skin hot and she backed away slightly, "A bottle of water would be great."

"You got it." He nods his head and disappears into the crowd.

Zay had already ditched them once they arrived, in hopes of finding this girl he was really into so Riley was on her own. She kept to herself and did her best to maneuver her way around the drunk dancing teens.

While Lucas is rummaging through the fridge for a bottle of water a slap on his shoulder grabs his attention.

"Dude!" Zay gasps, trying to catch his breath. "You'll never guess who just showed up without her man candy."

"Who?" Lucas asks, staring past Zay trying to spot Riley. Truth be told he wasn't very interested in whatever the boy had to say.

"Annette Sommers." Zay smirks, pointing her out in the crowd.

Annette Sommers was Lucas' ex girlfriend. They have quite the tumultuous relationship, constantly being on and off again. Usually Lucas was the one to end things but this more recent time she dumped him for a college guy which left Lucas a little bitter. Needless to say they didn't work out.

"She's asking for you." Zay informs him.

"I'm officially done with that." He grabs the water and starts to walk back out.

"Why?" His friend asks, raising an eyebrow in his direction. "Because of Riley?"

Lucas ignores him and goes to try and find Riley.

When he spots her he notices she's being chatted up by none other than Charlie Gardner. He hovers a little, wanting to listen in on their conversation.

"So you're here with Lucas?" He asks her, leaning a bit too close. "That's surprising."

"Why is that?"
