It was Liam's 21st birthday, and as the best friend, you had planned a surprise birthday party for him.

During the whole day, you were itching to tell him, but of course you had to bite your tongue.

Liam only wanted a quiet dinner with close family and friends, but you knew deep down inside that he wanted to let his inner party animal out and stay up until the sun rose.

You grinned like a kid in a candy store as you and Liam explored the City's clothing stores.

Liam grew a little suspicious, but put it a side as "just one of those days"

Secretly, you had been shopping for his new clothes for his party in a few hours.

The venue was at a yacht club, and since your father was a member, the catering and band was paid for.

The clothing you had bought for Liam was really hot.

He objected to the thought of you buying it, but you insisted.

You dropped him home and told him to get ready and you would pick him up at around five.

Showering, dressing and curling hair, you got ready yourself, eager as ever to see Liam's surprised face.

You drove back to Liam's, gawking at how good looking he was.

He raised an eyebrow, and you looked away and began to drive.

You got to the yacht club and were about to walk in when you got a phone call.

You looked at the caller ID, confused.

Liam stopped walking and waited near the entrance, a few metres in front of your.

It was Perrie; she was meant to be inside.

You pressed answer and spoke,

"Hey Pez, what's going on??"

You heard shouting in the background before Perrie's booming voice.

She began to squeal in the phone,

"Oh my god (Y/N), the band isn't here!!!

They got held up!!!

I'm stressing!!!

WE CAN'T NOT HAVE A BAND FOR LIAM PAYNE'S BLOODY 21ST!!!!"

She began to hyperventilate, you could even hear Zayn's voice in the background trying to sooth her.

You looked at Liam, he was eyeing you, smiling slightly.

It turned you on greatly, but you blinked hard.

Just friends, no attraction what so ever.

You began to rush,

"Just think of something, you're smart, get the boys and girls together and blend the group!!"

Perrie groaned before hanging up.

You placed your phone back in your clutch as you walked towards Liam.

He was leaning against the wall, the smile still on his face.

"Sorry about that Lee, my older sister's nanny called me about advice with the kids.

They can be a little....hard to handle sometimes."

He kept looking at you and frowning.

"Oh yeah, I remember Sam."

Said Liam, nodding his head.

You didn't know were this was going, so you simply answered,

"Yeah, he's a good kid."
