Life was okay, you know me. A typical teenager who attends hell on earth called school. I have friends and stuff yeah, but everyone also has those people in our lives who seem to hate our guts for no apparent reason. At home, i have a loving family though i mostly find refuge in my room and avoid socializing. Internet is my escape and i spend almost all my time in here.

My name is Alice and im 15 this year. I have strawberry blonde hair but dark brown eyes. Im not thin, in fact most people call me chubby but im just one of those girls who doesnt really mind what people say and love their own body. I love wearing shorts and a short sleeved tshirt, excpet for winter where we have to bundle up (ugh).

Everything about me is totally normal, well.. kind of. You see, i dont like boys. I dont mean it in the way like boys annoy me, i mean theyre fine and stuff. What i mean is that i dont like boys the way other girls do. I prefer the girls who like those boys. The thing is that no one knows. And i dont plan on telling anyone because theres this other kid in our school. His name is Steven, but everyone calls him "cock slut" Stephanie. You see, hes gay and everyone is expected to hate him. I mean i dont hate him personally but since all my friends call him names and trip him in the hallways, im expected to do it too. Dont judge me, okay? i just dont want to be the only kid whose nice to him and be related to him in anyway. Then i will have to endure all the teasings in school. I wouldnt call it bullying coz the kids dont mean it... I mean its just for fun, right?

 *BEEP BEEP BEEP*

I groan and reach my hand out from underneath the covers, hitting the off button on my alarm. Great, another day of school. At least i will get to catch up with Troy and Jazz. Theyre my best friends, and have been for a very long time. However they were both busy the past weekend, Troy helping out with his dad's workshop and Jazz over at her Grandma's house baking cookies. Me? I stayed at home and had a great time with my laptop.

I decide to skip out on the shower and brush my teeth, wash my face, and put on a pair of high waisted shorts with a top. Spring is still a great time to wear my favorite clothes which consist of mainly different styles of shorts and colorful and interestng tops. Heading downstairs i have a bowl of cereal and make small talk with my parents. Its kinda sad really, since i have no siblings. The only real intereaction i have is with my parents.

Making it to the bus just in time is a daily routine for me and today is no different. I earn a scowl from the grumpy old bus driver and flash a smile in return. I head to the middle seats and plop myself down, stuffing earphones into my ears. I give a routine glare and mean look to the kids in the front, laughing when someone throws a paper ball and hits a boy's head. However that boy doesnt turn around and thats normal, they arent supposed to retaliate, instead they have to accept it. I mean its their fault for not being normal and doing things we people do. Its embarassing to say though that i was friends with some of them before high school.

Dont think of me that way, i mean i dont WANT to do it, i just have to. If i dont, it'll seem like im friends with those kids, the outcasts. And that is a complete death sentence. The teasing in the bus is just the start of it all. Scool is the real battleground. Not just for the outcasts but also for us normal kids. You see there are many different characters in school. Normal ones like us, the extreme bullies, and the popular kids. I mean even we get called the occasional name but we dont have it as bed as the  outcasts. Its amazing what some people can think of to do to them. Just the other week, one of the girls who has a really bad case of acne walked into the bathroom while the queen bee and her followers were applying their makeup. Long story short, she walked out of the bathroom with words written all over her in eyeliner and also drawn on exaggerated pimples.

A sudden stop and shuffling of feet brings me back from the world inside my iPod. Stuffing it into my backpack, i head out of the bus and into the school grounds. Heading towards one of the oak trees in the big field. I see Troy and Jazz already waiting there for me with some other people. This is our tree, we always hang out here if we cant find space in the cafeteria.  I wave hi as i approach, signalling the start of a new school day.
