I walked home, to my apartment, and noticed my land line had one message from my best friend, Allison, but everyone calls her Ali.
"Heeeeeeey Jenny! Come to the bar with me! Don't be focused on your new job!!! You gotta hang with the gang!!!!! You better be here in less than an hour. See ya!"
Because she was drunk, I didn't want to make her mad. I changed out of my work clothes and put on skinny jeans, a teal tank top, and I put on a hoodie over it.
I waved on the street for a taxi, and stepped into it. "Amy's Bar on Avery Avenue."
The driver nodded and started to drive. I paid for the cab and stepped out of the car.
Ali was standing by the door. "Ayyyye!!! Look who decided to show up! It's Jenny the Lady!" She laughed and then started to stumble into the bar.
"You're so drunk!" I hit Ali's shoulder and she shook her head. I smiled and walked over to a table with a few of her friends, Nelson, Ricky, and Kristy.
"The gang is together! At last! Whoopee Doo!" Ricky slurred pretty much all of his statements.
"All of you are drunk. Maybe I can manipulate you all?" I was trying to trick them, as I love to do with them when they are inebriated.
"No. I'll never tell you that I'm in love with Ali." Kristy giggled and leaned over to kiss Ali. Ali kissed her back.
"Jenny! Have you heard? I doubt you have, since you're new, but a person at your company designed a website that can read miiiinds. Well, it can read memories anyways." Nelson whispered in my ear, very loudly.
This couldn't be happening right? I mean, I had just created that today as an idea, so how could it already find memories?
I looked around me. Everything started to go blurry, and I couldn't possibly think about this concept. I could before, but now I know that this will be on the internet, endangering others!
I walked up to the bar. "I'd like something strong. Very strong."
