Expectations. When someone says that, maybe you think of school. Grades. Setting the bar high. That word reminds me of my dad. He's always pushing me to be the best I can be, but sometimes I feel overwhelmed. Like it's too much. I wrote this after a horrible day of practice, where he kept lecturing me on how to do something the right way. I can't even remember what it was anymore. Anyways, here's the next poem.

Only Human
I’m not perfect,
I never said I was
Why do you think I am?
Because I’m good at a few things?
I wish I were a superhero,
I wish I could fly like Superman,
I wish I could have superpowers
But I don’t.
Why can’t you accept that?
Because you want ‘the best for me’?
I want you to know,
I understand that.
But sometimes,
Expecting perfection is too much.
Cut me some slack.
Even Superman takes a break
Even superheroes aren’t perfect
If fantasy isn’t perfect,
How can you expect me to be?
I’m only human.
I try my best.
