Ego is an absolutely abomination. People have to realize just because mommy and daddy told you you are the world and shit, you're not! There is not one thing I hate more than seeing ego take over my friends. I have a good friend who is rather short and decides to brag about his ability on his instrument because he simply needs that because he has nothing else going on. Is this necessarily his fault? I don't think so. You cannot blame someone for ego in the same way you can't blame them for existing. Ego seems to be caused by people who have a lot of money, get no attention at home, or just need to be egotistical for personal problems. These egomaniacs are extremely aggravating and hard to work with. As a musician, there is no one thing I hate more than another musician who brags about him/herself constantly and repeatedly. It's something you don't do. In life, you have friends, these friends compliment you on talents and other things. You don't compliment yourself. If you do that, most people just think you're an asshole to be honest. Like, "ooh look at me I'm a beast." No one wants to hear that. People who get complimented are the ones who don't give theirselves any credit. People need to have respect and learn to not talk about themselves. No one wants to hear your praise yourself.
