Finally, the car came to a stop. They waited until the coast was clear. Then, they jumped out and ran for cover under a large metal crate. They took a minute to make sure they were still in one piece.

“Boy, good thing I skipped breakfast this morning.” Domino remarked.

“I haven’t eaten since yesterday morning.” Kiara mentioned. After their heads stopped spinning, they looked around. They saw the humans picking up the boxes next to them and taking them into the building.

“We have to get in there.” Domino said.

“But how are we supposed to do that?” Kiara asked. Domino watched as more and more of the boxes were taken in.

“I have an idea. Follow me.” Kiara followed Domino as they crept along the ground. With his claws, he managed to pry one of the boxes open.

“What is that stuff?” Kiara asked. The box was full of different bottles and tools. Kiara watched as Domino took most of it out and hid it away.

“There. Try to squeeze in.” Domino said. After struggling, Kiara managed to squeeze into the box.

“What about you?”

“I’ll do the same thing. Just stay still.” Domino jumped on the box and pushed it shut. Then he got in a box next to the one Kiara was in. Using his claws from the inside, he managed to close it shut. After a while, Kiara felt her box being lifted.

“Phew, this box is heavy.” Someone outside said.

“They all are. Now quit whining and get the rest of them in the factory.” After being swung back and forth, Kiara felt her box get put down on the ground. She listened very carefully. All was quiet. She struggled to get her legs in position, but she managed to get them up against the lid. Pushing as hard as she could, she managed to push the lid off. Quickly, she crawled out.

“Domino? Domino?” She whispered. Suddenly, the box right behind her shook. Kiara jumped back.

“Domino?”

“Yeah, I’m stuck.” Kiara pulled the lid off. Domino was all cramped up. Taking hold of his front paws, she pulled him out.

“You okay?”

“I will be as soon as I get this crank out of my neck.” Domino turned his head side to side. Kiara heard his neck pop.

“Ah, that’s better. Now what?”

“Let’s take a look around. Hopefully our families are here.”

“Let’s hope so. The sooner we find them, the sooner we can get out of here.”

“You said it.” Kiara and Domino quietly sneaked along the floor. They looked all around.

“We may not have found our families yet, but one thing’s for sure, this place is over flowing with the smell of cheetahs.” Domino stated.

“You can say that again. Everything around here smells like it’s been touched by at least a dozen cheetahs.” Kiara agreed. Suddenly, a large bell rung. Kiara and Domino jumped.

“What was that?!”

“I don’t know. Just stay low!” Kiara pushed Domino’s head down. They watched as a large door opened and a big truck pulled in. The humans crowded around the truck.

“What do we got today, Frank?”

“9 cheetahs. They’re all from the southern plains.”

“Great, let’s get them to the measuring room.” One by one, the humans took out large cages from the truck.
