"Haha, you can't find me!", Aaron shouted across the vacant cemetery. It was Friday May 13, Aaron's 8th birthday. He wanted to go across town to the cemetery to put fresh flowers in Grandma Laura's flower vase, but he had different ideas. "Quit, Aaron. Mom wanted us back home 5 minutes ago! She's probably worried to death." I scolded him. "Oh, right. When was Miss Rebel so concerned about getting home on time?" He shot back. "Besides, you probably just want to leave because you're scared!" Then he ran away towards the woods. Wow, I thought, he just really wants to get in trouble today doesn't he? "Aaron!" I shouted. I ran into the woods after him, following the sound of twigs and branches snapping. "Aaron! Please get back here!" The woods were very humid from the May weather. Then, I heard a faint scream from the distant. "Aaron! Are you okay?!" Silence. I ran toward the direction of the scream, terrified. Out jumped Aaron. "Haha I got you! You were scared! Weren't you?!" He laughed. I gasped, hitting him on the shoulder. "Knock it off, Aaron. Come on we need to get home before Mom has the whole state of Maine out looking for us." "Okay fine." He said, "I bet you can't beat me back to the house!", he shouted out. "Oh no you won't" I ran after him. Then, I stumbled and fell. "What the-?" I found a little treasure box half-sticking out of the ground. I pulled it the rest of the way out of the ground and dusted off the mud and dirt. I then nervously opened the box. Inside was a heart shaped locket. I let out a sigh of relief. I casually took out the locket and examined it in the sunlight. Huh, nothing is wrong with it, why would someone just bury it right here in the middle of the woods? I thought. I opened the locket and inside was a photo of a boy and a girl about eight and thirteen. Aaron and I's age. "Jessica?" I heard a familiar voice. "Just a minute" I shouted back at Aaron. I stuffed the locket in my jeans pocket and put the treasure box back in the ground and ran after Aaron.
