"Adalyn," the voice rang through the intercom. "The boss wants you." The young girl who had been previously sitting on her bed, sighed, letting down her long black hair from its updo, and walked out of her door.
She urgently headed down the pristine, white hall, her heels clicking as she went. Ever since she had been adopted, she was made to dress nicely, rarely allowed out of a skirt. She despised make up however, her hair was her favorite accessory; she loved doing it.
As she walked she let her fingers trail of the shape of the walls. The further she went, the darker the hallway grew, though she could still find her way through the manor perfectly. Stopping in front of a dark, wooden door, her pale hand twisted its knob and she walked in.
"You... wanted to see me?" Her smooth voice rang in the dark room.
"Yes," a cold, Irish accent slurred. "Adalyn I have a job for you to do." The man stood up and walked to the girl called Adalyn, the small amount of light in the room hitting his face.
"Yes, Jim?" Adalyn pushed for him to continue.
The man called Jim tucked her hair behind her ear. Adalyn was used to this cold touch. "Sissy, I need you to move out." She gave Jim, her brother, a raised eyebrow. "And into, specifically, 221C Baker Street."
Adalyn gave him a bored expression. "And I assume you would like my to move in immediately?"
Jim gave her a devilish smirk. "Now why else would I tell you this at 7:30 in the morning?" Adalyn nodded slightly. "Here's the land lady's card. Call her right away." Jim handed her a small telephone card.
"I also presume you are not going to give me any information on the reason why I'm moving?" Adalyn asked him.
"Naturally not," Jim chuckled. "I will tell you that the resident of 221B is a man named Sherlock Holmes. He's my target. Now off you go!" Jim ushered her from the room and she didn't complain.
As she walked back down the halls, she had phoned the land lady, an old woman by the name of Martha Hudson who was extremely eager to rent out the old basement.
Around an hour later, Adalyn decided it was time to head over to the new flat and walked out of her shared manor to the shiny, black car that was waiting for her. A tall, blonde man stepped out from the driver side. "Morning, Ms. Moriarty."
Adalyn waved at him. "Good morning, Sebastian."
Sebastian reached for the door handle, opening it for the girl. "Where to, Ada?"
Adalyn smiled at her nickname. Sebastian had been a family friend for years. He was practically her brother; a far better brother than Jim's ever been. "Baker Street, Seb. 221B, to be precise."

One incredibly tedious car ride later, the car pulled in front of a black door with golden numbers that read 221B. Adalyn groaned to herself, not really over-the-moon about living with complete strangers. Sebastian got out from the driver's seat and opened her door. "Maybe I'll see you around, Ada?" He asked her giving her a smile.
"I wouldn't know. I sure hope so," Adalyn said unsure. In all honesty, it was unlikely she would ever return home. Jim's "jobs" were never safe nor long term. "Goodbye, Seb."
"Goodbye," he said as he got in his car and drove back down to road.
Adalyn sighed to herself and walked up to the door, knocking the slanted knocker. To her surprise a short man with greyish-blonde hair and a sporty jumper answered the door. "Hello?"
Adalyn glanced back at the numbers on the door. It's the right place. This must be the Sherlock Holmes Jim had told her about. "Um yes, sorry to bother you, but I'm looking for a Mrs. Hudson?"
