Sherlock could hear distinct laughing when the door to the flat opened, obviously signifying that John and Adalyn had a good time. When they reached the top of the stairs they were still giggling as John began taking off his coat and then Adalyn's. "Priceless," she said in between laughs.

John smiled, attempting to calm down. "I'm going to pop into the shower. You're welcome to stay up here. Maybe we can all watch a movie tonight?"

Adalyn grinned at how confident he was. "Yeah let's do that." John gave her one more smile before squeezing her shoulder and walking off to the washroom to shower. "Lock?" She asked as she walked to the kitchen. "I'm making tea, do you want some?" She heard Sherlock get up from her chair and smirked once more.

Turning around to give him some snarky remark, Adalyn was shocked to see him standing right in front of her, far to close, which caused a slight tint to cross her face. "I'd love some, thanks," he nearly whispered.

Adalyn was thrown aback by his strange behavior today. Sherlock will be Sherlock, she supposed. She sighed as she turned around to make their tea. After she was finished she turned back around and handed him his cup. Well she just set it on the counter, he was already doing something. That man.

He was "playing" with his science stuff. Okay, well Adalyn knew what he was doing and knew that it wasn't just "science stuff." She was a biochemistry major. She silently observed him from behind her cup, watching him mix several things and remembering reactions.

"Oh don't do that," she thought to herself.

Sherlock turned to her apparently able to read her thoughts. "Why not?" He asked, authenticity curious. Maybe she didn't think it.

"Why not what?" Adalyn responded, somewhat quickly.

"Why should I not mix these two?" He asked slightly kinder.

A/N I know nothing about science so I'm just gonna put fancy words in here and hope for the best

"Well," she paused stepping up to the counter. "This one would just create a non-polar reaction that would result in it dissolving. If you added this," she picked up a vile. "To it," she continued to drop several drops into a separate liquid. "It crystallizes creating ammonium chloride."

When she turned her head to see the increasing amount of shock on his face. "H-how did you-"

"I was a biochemistry major awhile back. It's not too hard," she responded proudly. She had basically outwitted Sherlock Holmes.

"Oh," was all he said as he turned back towards his work. Adalyn watched him for a moment as he peered into the microscope before deciding to go back to the couch. As she turned, she felt him grab her hand abruptly, causing her breathing to hitch. She twisted slightly to face him but he was still looking in the microscope. "Stay," he said shortly.

"A-alright," She stuttered, still surprised bully his actions. He let go of her hand and began prodding at the crystallized material in the beaker. She didn't watch him this time; she was trying to figure the man out. He was so peculiar.

She rested her hand on one of the only empty spaces on the counter, drinking her tea with the other. As she set the cup down, Adalyn built up the courage to look over at him. It looked like he had the substance on a slide. She tried to focus on the crystal and the way the light shined through it, to no avail as Sherlock placed his hand over her's on the counter. She felt her heart rate pick up and her face grow red but she quickly tried to calm down. I mean it's completely normal right. Completely normal for a sociopath to be this touchy. I mean we've know each other for weeks.

They stayed like that for awhile, Sherlock still science-ing and Adalyn awkwardly sipping her tea while she watched. Sherlock didn't even know why he was doing it. He didn't know why he felt so obligated to have her with him constantly, but he did. It wasn't until they heard the bathroom door open and saw John's freshly showered figure appear that they both tore away quickly. Both of them had to admit though, they missed the touch.

After the trio had changed, Adalyn chose a film to watch. John and her sat on the couch while Sherlock, big surprise, sat in his chair. He actually seemed quite interested and maintained his focus on the film throughout. John, however, was too busy watching Adalyn. They had made dinner and finished it during the movie and Adalyn was exhausted, even though the only thing she did all day was talk to Sherlock and grab a meal with John.

About halfway through Adalyn laid down, despite John telling her she's undoubtedly going to fall asleep, and continue the movie like that. She surprised herself when she made it through another half hour.

Although when John offered to take their empty plates to the kitchen, he came to find her fast asleep. John took a blanket from the back of his chair and laid it across her sleeping figure gently. When he turned, Sherlock's eyes were on him. John gave him a 'what?' look and slowly walked upstairs.

Sherlock sighed when he heard his friend's bedroom door shut. He gave Adalyn one last glance before going to his room himself.

A/N Orginally this chapter and the last one we're going to be combined but it didn't work out that way soooo.... Anyway hope you enjoy and I'll see you in the next one!
