"It's either him or me, you make your choice because I am no longer putting up with your lies Harmony. The choice is yours. I'll be downstairs in the car waiting for you, your lies are polluting my air can't stand to be around you anymore."

Hydan made his exit and slammed the door as he left, I cringed as tears found its way down face and onto my perfectly white ball gown. I was sitting by vanity staring into the mirror replaying the previous event and held my chest because it hurt so much. I knew I cause Hydan a lot of pain but tonight was not about this drama, my college roommate Jade and her billionaire hunk of a husband was having a masquerade ball and Hydan my boyfriend of five years were invited to yet another one and although I didn't want to go after that fight I could not disappoint Jade, she's always been there for me when I needed her, even after her five year old daughter died, she was always by my side. I took a deep breath and dried my tears, reapplied my make up, checked myself one more time in the mirror, took up my mask and made my way downstairs to the car. The ride to the mansion was silent and I felt very uncomfortable, not once did Hydan look at me, he never even complemented me. I felt like the fool I was for what I did to him.

An hour later we arrived at the mansion, we entered the ballroom and as I looked around for Jade I could not find her but I did see her husband Kai talking with his business partners and that's where Hydan made his path, I was going to find Jade when I almost turned pale, Jeremy; the guy I was sleeping with was at the ball, despite the fact that its a masquerade ball I still knew it was him and him me. He slowly walked in my direction but I quickly turned and made steps with Hydan. I smiled my brightest as though nothing was going on with me and then music began to play, I looked up and Jade in her beautiful black dress walking down the stairs and that's when I realised Kai had disappeared into the crowd to meet her and Hydan asked if I wanted to dance. I felt a bit happy that he talked to me but that didn't mean all was well.

We walked over to the dance floor and we danced, as I gazed into Hydan eyes I saw pain, the pain I saw was nothing like what I've ever been through. This look in his eyes almost made me cry and I began to remember our fight from before.

"What the fuck are you telling me? You were having an affair?

"Yes"

"With my boss's son?"

"Yes"

Hydan raised his hand and slapped, it stunned me because he's never hit me no matter how angry he had become.

"Hydan Pierre Vanderpool, no matter how angry you are,  you have no right to hit me. It was a mistake you were always neglecting me and he was there for me when you weren't its not my damn fault"

"Harmony are you really hearing yourself speak? Don't let me hit you again"

Although I was wrong for cheating he was wrong for hitting me and then to threaten me I got upset and started to throw whatever was close to my hand at him. I threw and threw until I got too tired to throw anymore and ran upstairs to the bedroom. A few mintues later the door opened and in he came with blood on his hands from picking up the broken glasses I threw at him. He sat on the bed and watched me curled up by the windowsill.

"Harmony, why?"

"I don't know"

He got up and walked into the bathroom. It was almost time for us to get ready for the ball so I went into the guest bathroom and bathe and got dressed. When I got back into the bedroom, he was dressed so I sat by the vanity and applied my make up to my face when he brought it up again.

"Are you still seeing him?"

"No, I stopped a few....."

I was interrupted by my phone and he took it up to see Jeremy calling me. He looked at me and placed the phone in front of me.

"Harmony when will the lies stop? Answer it"

I did not answer the phone because I was telling the truth, I had no idea to why Jeremy would call me.

"Are you still seeing him?"

I looked at him from the  mirror and said no once again and like before my phone rang again. This time I knew he was furious.

"It's either him or me, you make your choice because I am no longer putting up with your lies Harmony. The choice is yours. I'll be downstairs in the car waiting for you, your lies are polluting my air can't stand to be around you anymore."

I snapped back to reality when Hydan spun me around and realised that the person to catch me in the partner switch was none other than Jeremy. I looked  over my shoulder and saw Hydan watching my every move as I was so close to the man I cheated on him with and he shook his head and walked away. I pulled from Jeremy and grabbed Hydan, I felt the tears welling up and felt a tug from the other end to see Jeremy pulling me  back but Hydan reached for me also. The two watched each other and circled me like vultures about to fight  for a piece of animal carcass and the pressure from the two made me want to run.

I watched both men because I knew I had to choose, the two danced with me one  after the other until they pulled me the same time and  my mask fell off my face and I held up feeling vulnerable as tears found its way down  my cheek. I slowly lifted my head to see both men in front of me, I looked up the stairwell to see Jade running  up and I knew something was wrong so I couldn't even ask her for help. I slowly walked towards Jeremy as the song came to end and kissed him on the cheek then made my way over to Hydan and planted a kiss on him  and apologized.

It was much too late for me to continue with the lies, the tears continue to stream  even after I made my pick  but its going to be hard face him. It should have never happened I should have never hid my face behind this masquerade.
