A Moon that Shines Brightly

He started all alone while waiting in the dark
like a snake with fangs so razor sharp
Not knowing what the world was really like
Exposed to danger he was ready to strike

A child he was but with such great power
similar to the boy who discovered that flower
Innocent he was not knowing his own path
He was the last remaining in the aftermath

Now this boy who holds such mystery
Finding hope it means so much to me
He awakes to find something different this time
Looking at us he seems to forget
fighting alongside me to eliminate a threat

Confused and lost he looked up in fear
Mitsuki: "Who am I?, and why am I here?"
Suigetsu: "You mean you don't know.
You're a ninja, a highly skilled one though.
You went on a dangerous mission with Lord Orochimaru
A spy has stolen your memories, here let me show you."

Without warning he grasped his kunai to see his reaction
Suddenly his arm wrapped around him,
Mitsuki: "What's... happening?"
Suigetsu: "See, I told ya. you can't remember a thing.
All you do remember is hand to hand combat fighting."
Mitsuki: But why? And who is this Orochimaru?
Suigetsu: "Well kid, I'll let him tell you..."

In a far room a dark hooded figure is now shown
Dark figure: "How many times will this take before he knows?"
Orochimaru: "I am hopeful this time around.
After all, he is my precious treasure that I've found."

Orochimaru enters the room where the others wait
As he starts to glance up at Mitsuki's face
Orochimaru: "Well now child, let's begin this once again."
Mitsuki: "But wait, just who are you?"
Orochimaru: "Oh, this is something you once knew.
All you need to know is that I'm one of the Legendary Sannin.
And you're my precious child, a powerful shinobi like me."
Mitsuki: "My....father?"

Orochimaru: "Yes, that's why I take such great care."
Now then, we must go back and confront this spy there.

Orochimaru: "He too is a skilled ninja, we code named him 'Log.'
Our mission is to take back your memories he stole from us."
Suigetsu: "Yes, but it won't just be easy ya know.
This ninja has a jutsu that tears at the mind so..."
Mitsuki: "You said your name was Orochimaru.
But isn't also possible he can steal memories even from you?"
Orochimaru: "Well I suppose that could be true but keep in mind.
Things will certainly be different this time."

Orochimaru and Mitsuki set off on their top secret mission
And they both come across this huge cave like entrance
Mitsuki: "What do we do now?"
Orochimaru: "This is just a barrier, the power you have...
I'll show you how."
With the touch of his hand the barrier fades away
A spy is shown with a mask covering his face,
Log: "So they've come, just as I thought,
Now's the time to change this plot"

Jumping down, they reach the ground
as the masked man waits for them now.
Log: "And here I was about to go greet you two.
It's almost as if you already knew."
Orchimaru: "Oh, come now.
Did you really think I would let you get away with this?
I'll be taking my son's memories back."
Log: "As you wish..."

Orochimaru: "And where does all that confidence come from?
The last time I remember you were the one getting burned."
They both started to attack like a sudden flash
Mitsuki: "Amazing...so fast..."

Snakes surrounded the masked man as one bites
Orochimaru: "It seems your armor is even stronger this time."
Log: "Fool, you've fallen right into my trap.
Ninja art: Mind collapse!!"
Orochimaru: "Ahh!! Mitsuki quickly you must use...
Deep inside, remember you have....Sage jutsu."

His father's words slowly faded away,
Log: "Well kid, I think it's about time I end this game."
As the masked man was about to strike, suddenly he stood frozen
Orochimaru: "My my, it seems you underestimated my snake's poison. Mitsuki, stay here and I will be right back but don't approach him."
Log: "Don't worry, I can barely move, let alone speak."
Hey kid, why don't you come over here and remove this mask for me?
I'm sure you must be confused.
And there's something I want to reveal to you."

Mitsuki slowly walks over and then takes off his mask
Log: "Now then, I'm sure you have something you'd like to ask."
I'm Mitsuki, that's right, I am you.
Your future, I'm a creation of Orochimaru."

Mitsuki: A creation? What do you mean?
Older Mitsuki: "If you haven't noticed it by now, kid, you're being deceived
Orochimaru is selfish man who desires only our abilities."
The truth is like you I was born with great power
but then I soon realized what he was really after."

Older Mitsuki: "I escaped his grasp one day so I fled.
If I had not, I probably would have ended up dead.
Mitsuki, you must stand against your father one day.
I'm your brother so listen to what I have to say."

Older Mitsuki: "He doesn't care about you! It's all an act!
You must open your eyes and fight back!"
Orochimaru: "My my, it seems I arrived too early this time
But what I should be saying is that's my line.
You and your brother, you both mean the world to me.
My two precious treasures, it's what I truly feel."

Orochimaru: "So Mitsuki, whatever he has told you,
Please, come over here."
Older Mitsuki: "Mitsuki! He's lying to you!
You know the real truth."

The struggle between them now begins
Suddenly Mitsuki awakens a hidden power from within
Snakes of energy, it's hard to believe
Mitsuki: "I won't let either of you control me!"

Without knowing, he takes the scroll in hand
Older Mitsuki: "I see, so this was all part of your plan.
It took a while but I'm sure you've waited for this day."
Orochimaru: "Of course, I knew he would definitely find a way
That boy he carries a special trait, one that you and I both lack
I'm sure once he realizes it, he'll surely come back."

Mitsuki is there as he opens the scroll
What he finds has meaning and so much more
Words filled with care, a mission to Konoha
"The answers to your path you will find them there

"You've always been precious to me
Now go my son, I set you free...
You're... A Moon that shines brightly."
