Chapter Two
Bella's POV
Everyone was now asleep so I'm standing outside down at the bottom of the drive way, staring down both ends of the long street.
I started going right but then stopped and heading left. Again I stopped, maybe I should wait for Dad to show me around. I soon decided against it and continued heading left.
As I was walking I kept thinking maybe I should of gone right, what if the town is that way? I pushed that to the back of my mind but still thought that maybe this wasn't the best idea. Ignoring my thoughts I continued walking down the street.
I don't know how long or how far I walked and I had no idea where I was. I had a feeling that the town was nowhere near in this direction. I saw a light in the distance and decided that it was best to head towards that so that is what I did.
The light turned out to be a light over hanging a children's playground. I made my way to the swing, had a seat and gently rocked back and forth.
I could tell it was starting to get quite late, it was now time to head back home. I got up and stood at the edge of the park and looked left then right. I couldn't believe it, I could not remember which way I came from. I just couldn't believe it, I now know for sure I have absolutely no sense of direction.
I made my way back to the swing and sat down. I reached into my jacket pocket and felt around for my mobile phone. When I didn't feel it I started to panic, I felt for it in my jeans pocket and when I realised I didn't have it I really started to panic.
How on earth am I going to get home? I have no idea which way to go.
"What have I gotten myself into?!"I shouted to myself, getting really frustrated.
"I don't know, what have you gotten yourself into." A guys voice answered.
I wasted no time. I scrambled to my feet grabbed the nearest stick to me and waved it around.
"I have a stick and no afraid to use it!" I shouted.
"So you plan on whacking me with that little thing? I doubt it will do much damage."
I looked down at my choice of weapon to see it was no bigger than a 30cm ruler and no thicker than a pencil. I looked back up and saw who I was facing. He look to be about my age, give or take a few years, he was tall and had dark hair, that was basically all I could see.
"Ah, yeah of course I'm planning to. If you take one step closer I'll whack you." I said trying my best to sound as threatening as possible and holding the stick over my shoulder.
He chuckled and took a step closer.
"I'm warning you!" I said.
He again came a little closer. "Go on then, hit me. I haven't done anything thing to you, your the one who's been threatening me," he said.
He did have quite a good point so I lowered the stick but did not let go of it. I still had it ready to take a swing if need be.
"So if your not gonna hurt me then why are you here?" I questioned.
"I could hear someone yelling from inside my house so I wanted to check it out," he answered.
"Oh," was all I said. I didn't realise anyone could hear me.
"Yeah you were really loud ya know, I'm sure the whole neighbourhood could hear you," he said having a seat on one of the swings. "So why are you here?"
Just as I was about to say why, drops of rain started falling from the sky. It soon became heavier and heavier.
The guy reacted quickly, he got up and started running towards the rows of houses the were across from the park. It looked as if he was going in to his house.
I quickly caught up to him as he was about to open up the door of a house.
"Wait!" I said.
"Aren't you gonna go back to your house or something? You'll get sick if you stay out here," he said, turning around and looking at me.
"I'm kinda um lost." I mumbled.
"Oh well in that case, I'm sure my mum wouldn't mind you coming in and you could phone home." The guy suggested.
I had think about this. I have no idea who this guy is it how dangerous he could be. It could be fine though, he did say his mum was there didn't he?
He open up the door and held it open so I could walk through first. I hesitated but ended up going through, I didn't really want to stay out there in the cold and rain.
