I woke up to the sound of the rushing wind hitting the glass. 5 a.m. the time of morning. I stretched out and set off to the bathroom and brush my teeth. I reach for my brush as I look in the mirror I see a girl I didn't know. But everyone calls the person Kennedy. I didn't get it but it was fine.

I took my brush and but my hair in a neat low bun. I go back to my bunk and see all my mates still sleeping so I stay quiet creeping back and forth. I take off my night shirt and put on a sand camo top. I look in my chest for my sand camo pants . I bent down to get my sand combat boots. I tie the sandy colored laces. I blouse my pant, then head outside cabin. I push the small wood fence that lead to dirt road.

I start with the privates from bunk A2. I start running on the dirt road. I closed my eyes to the sound of the dirt crushing under my boots. I open my eyes again to a light feel of rain.

I made a left and parted away from the group. I stare at my old training field. I remember the old days I would have crawl in mud under layers of barbed wire. We had to scrub the tub after.

The sounds of the wind beats my ears as I ran . It sounds like music well to me. I run to the sound of the light sounds of music playing in the wind. I spun around. Laughing. I hadn't laughed like that in a while. I ran my finger over my lips as I tripped, laughing and laying on the floor. The dirt was getting on my clothes. I got up and jogged the rest of the way. I hadn't realized how long I took. Everyone was awake. And gone...

I rushed in and out on my coat. I slip with my army cap. I run fingers over my patches. I smile walk past the plane wood bunk beds. I run my fingers over my name I engraved on the wooden frame of the bed. My smile faded quick. I rewrap my hair in a small low bun. I put on my cap.

I walk out and see many troops marching in different ways. I run down the concrete stairs as they stop and salute screaming in a stern voice

"JR. CORPORAL BROOK" they said in unison. I switch my angle to them.

"B4 LEFT QUARTER " I salute to them returning the stern voice "Captain Cruise. It's been a while"

"Yes it has Jr." A tall man around my age. An amazing build with tanned skin and thick short brown hair.

"You heard... I'm-" I got cut off by Cruise.

"I know your..."

"Yeah..." I punch him in the arm. He whines in pain.

"I'm sorry" my voice cracks as we hold in our laugh. Even the fleet begins to crack a bit. They try and save it in.

It was 5:30 a.m. I tried to keep my cool from because a river was begging to come out. A river of tears. I walk down looking at familiar faces and places. I laugh. I walk to the lunch hall. No one was in there but Oswald Nufmen. He wore glasses. A beautiful smile and freckles. Tan and strong like Cruise. Nufmen is Cruise brother. Different fathers. They didn't seem to mind. I ran up to him and jumped on his back. He choked a bit as he was eating. He laughed as caught me. I put my hands over his eyes.

"Kenny Bear?" He took another bite. I could hear his stupid smirk.

"Ozzy!" I said getting off his back. "You get taller and taller everyday"

"Or your getting shorter" he picked me up by my waist.

"Where is everyone?" He choked on his sandwich and looked at the watch.

"I'm late bye!" He sprinted away. I ran after him. I look to my sides and see no one out. I hear the soft cry of the wind. The wind brushed the loose hairs by my face. I ran pace the classrooms, training campaigns, everything. I hear something. The music from my first Drill recital. I was on the drill team.
