Vultures circle around the sun, closing in on their target. Buddy trudges through the sand as he wanders in the desert. "I've been wandering..." The sun beats down on him as he finishes cataloging in his journal for the umpteenth time.

"This desert..." Buddy wipes the journal over the sweat on his forehead before he puts it back into his bag. "For ten days now." He continues to wander as he talks aloud to himself. "I suppose I could take off my explorers coat for a bit of relief."

Sweat starts to pour down on his face. "If I wasn't wearing this, people would see me and think '"Oh. Just some man wandering around. Not important at all. Why...he can't even find the elusive sand castle! Ha ha ha!'" They say. "'What a fool!'" They'd continue."

Buddy groans as he collapses into the sand, headfirst. He lifts his hand up one last time, finally giving up. "This is it then!" He grabs the journal in his book and he pulls it out towards his face. "The end of my adventure!" Buddy opens the journal and he starts jotting in his final entry.

"I just followed a map to my own end." Tears rolls down his cheeks. "This will be the last thing I ever see as I expire." He gazes at a figure with a few companions. "An angel and her one, two, three, several lions? Here for my soul."

Connie and Steven stares at the book's final page. "Is this the end?" Steven looks away from the journal.
"I guess so." Connie closes the book and she looks at Steven. "So what do you think Buddy was talking about? The angel and the lions?"

Steven presses his hand against his forehead. "I...I don't know, Connie." Connie contemplates on the last entry. "Hmm...do you think that it was something that you would see as you die or something that was actually there when he passed?"

"An angel and her several lions." Steven gets up from his chair and he starts pacing. "I don't know who that could possibly be. Could it be someone that we know? Or perhaps someone we don't know?"
"Maybe you could talk to the Gems about it."

"I think I could. Can I take the book with me?"
"Of course. But you can only keep it for a set amount of time."
"Oh. Okay then. Maybe it could help us on missions. It does have some information on Gem stuff."

"Good point." Connie picks up the books that she wiped off the table earlier. She sets them back down on it with a grunt. "Well, back to homework. I'll see you later, Steven."
"Okay! Bye!" Shushes erupt in the room, startling Steven. "Bye."

He takes the book over to the check out counter and he leaves the library after it's checked out. He mounts on lion and he holds onto the book as Lion yawns. He stands up and his eyes glow he roars and a portal forms. Steven looks down at the book one last time before he pats Lion's neck.

Lion jumps through the portal as Steven hangs on tight. Another portal forms at the temple. After lion jumps through it, Steven immediately dismounts from it before he dashes up the steps. He swings the door open. "Guys! There's something you gotta see!"
