Pretentious.
That is what the world is. The people, the places, the objects, everything. It's all pretentious. The quicker we realise this, the less tragedy we'll have to go through, the less we have to stress about someone we love hurting us.If only the old Summer knew this. She has suffered so much at such a young age. The world has forced her to deal with stuff that adults can't even imagine dealing with. She was forced to grow up and mature way beyond her years because other people are selfish.
I won't get too much into that just yet, let me start from the beginning.

Summer Evans was an ordinary child. She was adorable, with chubby cheeks and blonde hair. She was shy and guarded, even at a young age she protected her heart with such vigour. Her laugh was loud and she was constantly bursting out into fits of laughter for no apparent reason, as all young kids do. Simply because they're happy. Their outlook on life has not yet been tainted. Generally the genuine happiness lasts up until they're teenagers, but for young Summer it ended way before the due date. Her whole world came crashing down all at once, and slowly she built up the wall that no one has managed to get past. The wall that guards her from what she knows the world can attack her with because the universe has no mercy and it's relentless. Pain is the only language it seems to speak, although it does so with the intention of helping people in some sick twisted way. And if we're honest, it generally works, except for the people who know better than to blindly trust that things get better, because they don't.
This is Summer's story about learning to trust, blindly and wholeheartedly, even though she knows the strength she needs to push past the pain and find genuine happiness again.
