After explosion
-ElizabethScreams, crying, crashing. Elizabeth opened her eyes to see their world in chaos. Windows were smashed out, and people were everywhere. She didn't know how many were even still alive. Her leg hurt, more pain than she had experienced before. What she assumed was once part of a house covered the majority of her right leg. After pushing off the debris that covered her leg, she stood up and staggered forward, taking in the horrific sights.
"Clara! Joseph! Thomas! Minnie! Alice?" She screamed.
Where were they? She tried to remember. 'Clara and Alice were right beside me' She thought. 'Minnie and Thomas went towards home.'
'And Joseph went to the docks..'She whipped her body around and dashed wildly around the debris and bodies.
"Please be alive," She whispered.
She hunted around, desperately trying to catch sight of her twin, or one of her younger siblings. She tried to ignore the pain pulsing through her leg, but it was too much. She stumbled and fell, over and over again, each time she stood up was harder than the last. Just as she fell one more time, a brown, white and black dog ran and threw itself under her arms, catching her. It was Mermaid.
"Mermaid! You're okay! You're Alive!" Elizabeth exclaimed. "Do you know where Clara and Alice are? They were right beside me.."
'I have to find them,' She thought. 'Clara, Alice, Minnie, Thomas and Joseph. I have to find them.'
-ClaraClara had been walking around, carrying her baby sister for what seemed like forever. After the explosion, she and Alice had been thrown back into a row of bushes. Other than a few cuts and bruises, the two of them were surprisingly okay.
She didn't understand how her twin could be so hard to find! They had been side-by-side before the explosion! Finally she caught sight of something. Elizabeth's hat. She ran over to it, where half of it was stuck underneath part of someone's roof. Clara put Alice down and started to pull. It took a while, but she eventually moved the whole thing. Nothing. Elizabeth wasn't there.
'This is a good thing,' she thought, trying to calm herself down. 'She's not under here squished, so she's probably alive and left her hat. Everything's fine.'Then, the sound of a dog barking reaches Clara's ears.
"Mermaid?" She yelled in the direction of the sound.
The barking continued, so Clara picked up Alice again and walked towards the barking dog. She spotted sight of Mermaid and her twin sister, and broke into a run.
Elizabeth looks up and spots Clara running towards her with Alice in her arms. "Clara!" She screams. "We need to find Thomas, Joseph and Minnie!"
-JosephJoseph had been running down the hill when his older sister yelled for him to come back. He stopped and turned around, but he couldn't make his way up the hill before the explosion. The explosion threw him against a tree, breaking his arm.
He first thing he did when he woke up was run home, cradling his broken arm. He had seen Minnie and Thomas go that way so they must be there. When he got there though, their house had been destroyed. There was nothing left but a pile of debris.
He eventually found her older sisters and Alice, but they never found Thomas or Minnie.
Their mother died while at work, and their father arrived with his crew unharmed, a few days later. He decided to stay home permanently.
