His hair smells soooo good, I think to myself. It pains me to know that he sits right in front of me. Where I could touch him, but I can't. He runs a hand through his coppery hair. Ugh! So frustrating! A small "huff" escapes me. He turns to face me. "Am I in your way?" he asks, giving me a questioning look. "No. Not at all. Never," I reply dumbly. A look of amusement crosses his face and he turns back around.
The bell rings and we all start to get up. "Roselina, see me." the teacher calls from his desk. Everyone turns to look at me and my checks turn red. "Um, ok." I say quietly. Once everyone leaves, the teacher starts talking. "Roseelina, you're failing this class," he glares at me. "I kn-know..." I shrink. He looks at me with defiance, "I'm assigning you a tutor." Oh thank god, is the first thought that came to mind. He looks down at the class roster. "Hmmm, let's see..." he says, eyes still glued to the roster. He looks at me with a look of victory, making me fear what he's about to say.
"How about Devin?"
I freeze up. Devin? Oh god no. The image of coppery brown hair and hazel eyes flashes through my mind. "Anyone else?" I say meekly. "Nope!" he replies, "You, are to go home with him today and you are to begin your tutoring."
My heart beats faster. Home?! I'm going to make a fool of myself!
"You're dismissed," he gloats. I slink my way out of the classroom. I have to go home with him. After the last bell rang, I went to go get my stuff from my locker, which is where I am now. Devin comes up to me. "Ready to go?" he asks. "Just one second," I reply, grabbing my things. I slip my backpack (filled with heavy book) over my shoulders. "Would you like me to carry that?" he politely asks.
"No, I got it," I grunt. How embarrassing. We get out of the school and start walking. "Sorry we have to walk. It's only about a mile though." he says. "Oh, it's fine," I reply, "My name is Roselina, by the way," He smiles, a smile I've been longing to be behind. Our moment is ruined by a girl shoving between me and Devin. His
heart-stopping smile disappears. "What do you want Tiffany?" he asks harshly. A look of hurt spread across her face. She was pretty. Enough to make any guy jealous. With flawless skin, medium-length blonde hair, sharp green eyes, thin pink lips, she had it all, compared to me at least.
"I'm single. Just broke up with Tom," she rolled her eyes. "I don't care," Devin retorted. "Just thought I'd walk you home," she said lustily, making me shiver. I looked at Devin and he looked at me, his eyes saying 'Help me!'. I then looked at Tiffany. "I thought I saw a really hot guy back there..." I absent-mindedly say and Tiffany goes running. "I'll be right back!" she yells behind her shoulder. I look at Devin."Run." I say.
