*One week later*
“Good morning babe.” I heard Ashley’s sweet voice next to me. “Morning. Oh, we were supposed to go Christmas shopping today! What time is it?” I shouted. “Haha, relax Andy! It’s just 12 am, we have the whole day left.” Ashley kissed me and got up. About in an hour we were ready and left to the mall. I know I was supposed to be resting but I already laid in bed for a whole week watching films with Ashley. I loved it but I have to get out of that house or else I’ll get crazy.
It felt like every single person on my town had decided to come shopping today, it was so busy. But we made it back to the car after three hours of shopping. We decided to pick up some food and then get back to the house.
“Boys! Please come here for a second!” I heard my mom yell from down stairs. “You’re grandparents are coming over tomorrow and are going to stay until Tuesday. I’m going to be working long days until Christmas so I thought that you two could think up something to do with them since it’s going to be two days before Christmas.” She told. “Sure! We’ll make something up.” I said. We went back up stairs and started wrapping the presents and thinking something to do with my grandparents. “What are they like?” Ashley asks. “They are really chill, and like all kinds of outdoor stuff. That’s why I haven’t done much with them in past few years as I’ve always been at home…” I told him. I used to go to zoos and parks with them when I was younger but then I kind of just locked myself in the house and never really did much. But now I’m happy again so it could be fun to do it again. “Well what about we’ll go ice skating?” Ashley smiles. “Yes! That’s a great idea! Even though I have no idea how to skate...” I laughed. “Don’t worry, I’ll teach you.” He smiled at me and gave a quick peck on my nose.
“Do you think your grandparents are okay with this? You know, you being gay and us being together and me living here…” Ashley asks as we lay on my bed. “I’m pretty sure they are. My granddads brother is gay and they are still really close and all. And you have a reason why you have to live here. Now, don’t worry. It’s all going to be fine.” I say and kiss him. Soon we fall asleep.
It’s 9 o’clock as we wake up and hear the door opening, I hear my mum talking and then the happy voices of my grandmother. We take a quick shower and get ready.
“Boys! Come here! I’ll leave to work now!” Mum yells from down stairs. We hear my mum leaving and go down the stairs. “Andy, wait.” Ashley takes my hand and stops. “What?” I ask, he looks worried. “Nothing just… If you don’t want to go there as a couple we can just be friends to them…” He says and looks at the floor. “Ashley, don’t be silly.” I say and we go to the living room. “Andy!” My grand mom yells and hugs me, so does my granddad. “Hey, I missed you.” I hug them back. “And who is this lovely guy over here?” They ask as they see Ashley. “Oh, right. He’s Ashley, my boyfriend. He lives here for now. Ashley this is my granny Lisa and by granddad Bret.” I smile as Ashely looks away. “Hey.” He says as he looks at me as if he’s asking if it’s all fine. “Oh, that’s nice.” My granny says. Nice? She didn’t sound too happy. Oh no, now there’s an awkward silence and Ashley is feeling bad I can see it. “I mean, that’s lovely. I just didn’t know you liked boys. It’s really nice to meet you Ashley.’ She says as she realizes the awkwardness. “Well, no one knew before I met him so just haven’t had the time to tell you. I had to tell mum first.” I said. “Oh, well that’s amazing that you found someone. I see you’re happier now than you were when we last saw.” She smiles. “I am happier, a lot.” We tell them about our plan to go ice skating and they were really exited so we decided to go right away.
“Ashley! Don’t you dare to leave me here alone!” I say as he starts to skate away with me standing there, too afraid to move. “Come on, you can do it!” He laughs. “No. Seriously come here and help me! You promised!” I shout at him. “Fine.” He says and comes to me. He takes my hand and we start moving, slowly but still. “See, it’s not that hard!” Ashley smiles at me. “Now come here.” He says as he let go of my hand and went a little further. I try but as soon as I start going faster I fall. “Baby, are you okay?” Ashley asks as he tries to get my up but I decide to pull him down too. “Ouch! What was that for?” He laughs. I can’t believe this is me. I can’t believe I have this boy. I just look at him and smile. “What?” He laughs at me. I say nothing and kiss him. “I am the luckiest guy on earth.” He whispers. Oh, no. I am.
(Quick granny POV)
“Just look at them.” I say to Bret. “They look so happy.” I smile. It has been a long time since I’ve seen Andy so happy. That boy really loves Andy, and Andy really loves him back. “I just hope that nothing happens to Andy for this…” Bret says as we look at them kissing and laughing on the ground. “What do you mean?” I ask. “Well, I heard that someone has been bulling Andy at school.” He says. “Because of this?” I ask again. No wonder Andy has shut out. “Well because he was gay but now that this boy is here, I heard that no one dares to bully him anymore. I was just wondering that there must be a reason why people are scared of Ashley…” Bret tells. “But look at him. He would never hurt Andy.” I say. I really hope so too.
(Back to Andy’s POV)
It starts to get dark and really cold so we decide to leave. When we get home granny makes dinner and we start to watch TV. It’s weird how normal all of this feels. I’m having an amazing day with my grandparents and my boyfriend. I’m finally happy.
Soon my mom comes home and we all decide to go sleeping. We thought that tomorrow we could just be at home, make dinner, watch movies and chill since they said it would be really cold tomorrow.
(Ashley’s POV)
I wake up as I hear my phone going off, I look next to me and Andy is still asleep. I go to the bathroom so that I won’t wake him up. “Hello?” I say to my phone. “Ashley! Where the fuck are you? You need to get yourself here right now! There’s family coming over!” I hear my dad on the phone. “Why would you want your gay son there to ruin everything?!” I ask. He hates me. “Well you come here for Christmas. You’re going to be normal for those few days. If anyone asks about you having a girlfriend you smile and say yes.” He shouts and gets off the phone. I’m scared now. I have to go home. I go back to our room and see Andy still sleeping. I get a small bag and put few clothes in it along with the other stuff I could need. I leave a quick note to Andy and leave. I miss him already.
(This wasn't really a good one. Idk, i feel like i don't have the inspiration to write this but i'll try. :) Tell me what you think.)
