Snapes deathly black eyes were like pits of nothingness staring into Juniper's hazel ones. She wanted to slip into the shadows and sneak back to Gryffindor Tower and skip this Occlumency lesson. This was her sixth one, and it seemed that her ability to close off her mind was only getting worst. In fact, she actually enjoyed her dreams. Sure they were strange, but she was blind to see the dangers and was wide awake to unlock the mysteries. But Dumbledore wanted her to take the lessons, he thought it best for her, and how could she deny one of the wisest men's wishes.
"Legilimens!" Snape shouted before Juniper even knew what was happening. Suddenly her mind had opened up like it was  a movie screening and Snape was the audience. Before she knew it, a hooded black figure  had appeared down an ally way, she had snatched the golden snitch seconds before plummeting to the ground, Cedric Diggory gleamed at her, and Sirius had looked down at her with a small grin.
June stumbled backwards and hit one of the tables. Her left hand rubbed her head as she gasped for breath. She got back to her feet and stormed, "I wasn't ready!" Seeing Snape's disapproving glare she added, "sir." Snape simply said, "the Dark Lord will not be waiting for you to be ready, he will see into your mind when he pleases." June could feel anger bubbling in her stomach, her mouth twitched, and her eyebrows knit. She shuffled closer to Snape prepared to tell him off, or maybe even hex him, but she let her hand fall from the pocket holding her wand and requested, "let me try it again." Snape looked down at her, his lips quivering. After a few moments he said, "the arrogance of your father, I see. Like James, you think you get second chances just because you want them and not because you deserve them." June was quite tired of him saying how arrogant her father was. She could barely take the rudeness he gave her, and his smug little smirk didn't help one bit.
"My father was not arrogant," she muttered under her breath as she took her stance. Snape softly snickered as he looked away then stared straight at June. As his mouth began to widen, ready to say the words, June shouted, "Legilimens!"
This time June was thrusted into Snape's mind. She saw a little hooked nose boy hopelessly staring at a red haired girl, Lily. Soon after the hook nose boy was much older, he looked seventeen, he was storming into the Forbidden Forest with a nasty scowl, and then he was younger once more. He looked about June's age, and he dangled in the air by his feet as students laughed at him. Before the memory ended and June was brought back to reality, she saw her father smirking and snickering. June's stomach felt uneasy. What was that? She asked herself.
Snape's hand clenched his heart as his eyes floated from the ground to June's face. Instead of looking angry, he was...scared. He backed away from the table, his eyes darted all over the room but refused to gaze at June, and he simply muttered, "get out." June gambled her chances as she shuffled closer to him. "Get out, you foul, Mud-blood!" His voice rang in the dungeon as his mouth quivered. Juniper didn't dare correct the Professor on her blood status, and she didn't dare ask him what was wrong. Instead, she quickly fled the scene and hurried to Gryffindor Tower as her heart raced. She wondered what that memory meant and why Snape had closed himself off so aggressively. Was he embarrassed? He must have been because the memories she witnessed were the ones he always placed in the Pensive. He forgot to that night, which may have been his biggest mistake.
