Breezetail shook with fear as Hootstar looked up at him, "You will make a fine leader, Breezetail. It's a shame Crowstar died so soon. I remember when Crowstar was Crowfeather. The leader then was Onestar. I was just an apprentice at the time, and a newly made on at that." Hootstar licked a brown paw and swished it over a small ear, "That was so long ago. Your namesake and father killed him though. Breezewhisker. Do you remember your father much?" Breezetail shivered at the thought of him being like the stories told about his father, "No. I try not to be like him." Hootstar nodded his understanding, "Your mother was a beautiful cat. She did have a thing for that Thunderclan leader Lionstar. They played in the tunnels. Lionstar and I became friends, but being a leader changes things. That is why I chose you. You're a great cat, and I know you will protect the clan well." Hootstar finished grooming himself. He looked at Breezewhisker, "Now, I think it's time you start arranging patrols. Do you mind if I join one? I haven't been on one in forever." Hootstar knew the answer to the question already, and padded out the den into the middle of camp. Breezetail called for Hootstar, Grayfang, Lilypaw, and Sandfur to be a patrol. Out the entrance they padded, all their tails disappearing through the tunnel for the last time.
