I was doing a dance, a happy dance. "Can I celebrate with you?" I asked. she immediately turned.

"Kate?" My name is Kate, Princess Kate. Tomorrow is my 6th birthday. It seems like the whole world is celebrating. People were running around decorating the palace with balloons streamers and flowers. The castle looked way more happy than it did most days. Even my Mom had a big smile. She usually said she was tired because she was going to have a baby in the next month or two. I never thought what it would be like to have a sibling. Mom said you can play with them and take care them. "Mommy!" I shouted. I gave her a light hug. She said not hug her too hard. The butler was showing her two table cloths.

"Why not let Kate chose?" Mom said. Mom turned to me. "Which one looks pretty?" She said giving me a smile. I pointed to the one with the pink flowers and golden lining. How I did love pink flowers.

"Good choice, your Highness." The butler replied then walked away. Mom looked around then announced.

"Everyone take a break we will discuss the menu for tomorrow after dinner." She looked at me, "Come on honey let's get ready for dinner." We walked to my room. "So, are you excited for tomorrow?" She asked, pulling out a dress.

"Yes, Yes!" I shouted. My maid Jamie walked in.

"Do you want me to help her put it on, your Majesty?" My Mom shook her head.

"No thank you."

"Yes your Majesty." Jamie walked away. I laughed as my Mom struggled to put the dress on. It took her a little to tie the back but she eventually got it. When we were finished Dad walked in.

"Daddy!" I hugged him.

"How's my favorite Princess?" I laughed. And for the first time I bothered to notice I saw Mom and Dad smiling at each other, sparkles in their eyes. My Mom always told me that I brought so much joy into this dull castle. I let go.

"How about we go to dinner?" I asked. We all walked out. Mom and Dad smiled the whole way even with all the cameras taking pictures. When we reached the dining room, There was steak set out on the table. For the rest of dinner everyone was silent.

When it was finally time for bed , my parents tucked me in. They asked me all sorts of questions, like what events do you like best and want to play first? My Dad said Uncle Arthur was going to be there. He always played with me. he continued asking questions. What are you looking forward to? After and hour of Questions they said,

"I think the birthday girl needs her rest!" And then they left the room. I will never forget this night. My Dad's blond hair looking so bright, and my Mom's smile looking so big.

When they left I took out my video camera. I put it on record. I made a video journal thing.

"Hello my name is Kate, my birthday is tomorrow and I am so..." I was soon interrupted by screaming. I forgot to take my camera off record. I opened the door. Orange light filled the hall. I laughed running through it. What a sensation, and yes sensation was a new vocab word my teacher taught me. I heard someone scream, "Get the princess!" But no one came. Then the roof started to come down I screamed. I ran through the palace crying. I saw many dead people. The sight so overwhelming, I guess no girl like me needed a horror movie. They started turning pale, then to ashes. I shook them, "Help!" They did not move. I tried to find my Mom, but something told me I had to get out. I found the closest exit and ran out. A maid and a guard saw me. They first looked at each other then walked over.

"Come with me Kate" The maid said.

"To Mommy and Daddy?" I asked.

"No, to your new home."
