Colene groaned as she woke up and checked her alarm clock. It read 5:48. She saw the light filtering in her window, and decided she should get ready for the day. Her dad, the CEO of Crystal Computers, had told her last night that he was going to take her into work with him. Of course, this meant she had to look her absolute best. Her dad was supposed to be at work by at least 7:30, so she had enough time. Cole had always been told she was beautiful, but she didn't think so. She had short brown hair, green eyes, and a fairly small build. She decided to straighten her hair, letting it fall to her shoulders, and spent a while deciding on her outfit. She finally chose a pink-brown sweater, a brown beanie, a dark pair of blue jeans, and her favorite black boots. She walked out of her door into the decorated hallway, down the ornate staircase, and into the kitchen across another largely decorated hallway. Her mother was cooking breakfast, and Cole sighed in happiness as she recognized the savory smell of bacon. Colene's mother, as usual, paid no attention to her, and just continued talking on her earpiece.
You see, most teens would love for their parents to be the CEO and secretary for Crystal Computers, the fastest growing and best computer company since Apple itself, but it wasn't all it was sold out to be. Colene was typically home alone throughout the day, and her parents worked long hours. On top of this, Cole was homeschooled, so she actually had no social life. On the bright side, however, she considered this to be more of a blessing than a curse. All the hours alone meant that she had at least once or twice tried to hack into the main system for Crystal Computers from her dad's laptop, and once or twice, she had succeeded. She considered herself to be quite gifted with hacking and computers, and she had a real knack for it. She never told anyone, but her dad's company wasn't the only thing she had ever hacked. Once, she 'accidentally' got into secret government files concerning Parallax, and she had them all downloaded onto a flash drive, which was hidden in her room. She eventually planned on doing something with them, but she wasn't sure what yet.
Her mom finished breakfast, and Colene ate quickly, sneaking some bacon into a bag for later. Then, she went outside to wait for her dad.

Adri sighed. She stared out the window of the huge black limousine, the world a bit darker through the tinted glass. She took a glance in the direction of the only other person in this area of the car, a young man whose name was Jackson. She turned around to face him completely, while he stared at the back wall of the sleek black limo. She quietly asked, "Mr. Jackson?"
"Yes, Ms. Adri?" he asked, not moving his gaze.
"Where are we going?"
"You'll know soon enough," he answered vaguely. That was the only answer Adri had gotten out of him since they left her home earlier that day.
"Jackson," She protested, "Please?"
"I can't tell you, Ms. Adri," he continued, giving her an apologetic look, "Please understand."
