WORST POSSIBLE TIME
a 13-step guide by Poppy R. Finstock:

              1) Be born into a family with a loud, overprotective father whose whistle is his most prized possession (bonus points if he's your high school gym coach!);
              2) Have both your first and middle names be after plants, and people tease you about it your whole life consequently (no but seriously, what the hell is up with you guys and plants, mom and dad?);
              3) Get a growths-pert right before ninth grade and be a giant to everyone, including the boy you've been working up the nerve to ask out all of middle school;
              4) Accidentally spill a white chocolate mocha on your crush's head in the middle of the cafeteria (well—the guy was actually later seen wearing a MAGA hat so therefore nothing is regretted) (except the wasted coffee, that was devastating.);
              5) Find out your best friend got bit by an alpha—and a true one, at that—in your freshman year and subsequently befriend an entire group of supernatural creatures;
              6) Be one of the only humans in your said friend group and constantly need saving;
              7) Trust people easily since that's one of your strong Pisces traits while living in a town that's literally a beacon for, again, supernatural creatures! (nice going, Poppy);
              8) Catch feelings for a Gemini, during your sophomore year, despite being way incompatible with him;
              9) Have said Gemini turn out to be a psychotic chimera that your friends banished to hell, after he lied to you and everyone else while you fell in love with him!!;
10) Almost tear the planet apart with your newly awakened witchy powers in an uncontrollable rage while you watch the love of your life get sucked into the ground (because life is just so funny like that);
11) Be heartbroken for your further high school experience;
              12) Have suppressed feelings be brought up when you have to reunite with your ex-boyfriend since he's the only one who might have any clue as to what the fuck a Stiles is;
              13) Go through all of this while your friends fight in a war between ghost riders, hunters, and the supernatural;

And so, to put this in fewer words, if you're anything like the walking mess whose writing this—you're probably screwed.

....Actually? Scratch that, you're most definitely screwed.

author's note. ━━ bringing this gem back because i missed s6 theo 🥺🥺 this is gonna be such an emotional rollercoaster so buckle in, folks!!! im honestly so psyched to write this since theo and poppy's dynamic is a lot different than some that i'm more used to writing. suffice to say: WAYYYY more angst lol. also, i thought that it would be a cool??? way?? to format the summary as a type of excerpt from Poppy's blog, since she's a writer and wants to become a journalist!! but GUYS i honestly never knew how much i needed father!coach finstock until i started planning this fic and WOW i love it so much!!! i already know it's gonna be so fun writing the finstock family, and i'm just here for it.
