It Had to be Murder

They were fighting again.

I only say this because they chose to leave the immediate safety the camp had to offer and chose to take their discussion further into the woods where no one could hear them.

I know I'd be in trouble if they caught me but I can't help it. I'm thirteen and they've left me alone with Sean. Lively knows I don't like Sean.

I can see Reese now if I were caught, chastising me, saying, "Lou you should know better."

I know they're fighting because Lively has a tick. Whenever she's mad, or saying something heated, she'll repeatedly flex her dominant hand.

That's what she was doing right now, her back turned to me. Her raven hair pulled up tightly into a bun.

When Reese gets upset it's easily written on his face. Right now, he doesn't 't seem too upset, his eyes are wide yes, and crazed. His ears are bright red which means his feelings somewhat mirror Liv's.

They were definitely fighting. This is how they would argue when we lived at the Lab. Back before everything changed.

Then Lively begins to shake her head no to whatever Reese was saying. She crosses her arms and kicks out her foot, another tick of hers when she's irritated.

Reese just smiles, he always smiles when he gets her worked up. It's usually a sarcastic smile and I'm willing to bet that right  now that's the smile he's giving her. He creeps forward slowly.

Liv, she looks down. I think maybe she's let out a sigh because her shoulders droop a bit. She kicks repeatedly at the dirt.

Reese nods yes and steps forward slightly again.

Lively's head snaps up and she looks around angrily.

Whatever she's said has pissed him off because his face is beet red again, but that doesn't stop him from reaching out to her.

Liv wants nothing to do with his advances because she irritatingly swats his hands away which makes Reese chuckle darkly.

He gestures between the two of them, but Liv just shakes her head no and takes a step back to give them some space. She's caught on.

This causes Reese to eye her up and down seductively and he closes the gap between them and whispers to her.

Lively, again, steps back and places her hand on Reese's chest. She isn't unaffected by all of this, her breathing appears off and her body tries to become languid. She fights it.

Reese is a man on a mission because he takes her body in again, like he can't  help himself.

Lively's head bobs rapidly when she speaks again, she jabs him in the chest this time.

Irked by her sudden contact he grabs her wrist and sneers at her. Face growing redder by the second.

She stands up straight, as if preparing herself for his verbal onslaught. Rigid the entire time he speaks.

He goes to continue but suddenly Liv is in his face, jabbing him with the other hand. She's a fighter.

It's like Reese is bipolar because he looks at her tenderly, and shakes his head as he whispers to her again.

Lively just throws her hands in the air, exasperated, but effectively it separates them.  She yells something unintelligible.

Reese rubs his temples, not liking what she says he points to her and then back toward the camp, so suddenly  that I'm panicked into thinking maybe he's seen me spying on them.

They never come my way, instead Liv looks down calmly.

Reese takes this moment to move forward, he reaches out to lift her chin and his eyes start to close when he leans in.

They're seconds away from touching foreheads when Lively snaps her head to the side to deflect it.

Reese just smiles and whispers in her ear again and whatever he's said causes her to shiver and then he forces her head back so that he can look her in the eyes.

Liv tries to steady herself by stepping back. The force of her inhale causes her shoulder to bunch up for a second  before coming down on the exhale.

Reese shakes his head and Lively turns away, flushed.

Reese walks up behind her and places his hands on her shoulders. He leans in to speak.

Her eyes snap open and she turns to face him, her lips spread thin with fury.

Reese reaches out to hold her arms which by now are waving around angrily but she stops and raises her hands in defense.

Reese ignores her and steps even closer, a sardonic smile on his face.

Suddenly Lively's hand flies toward his face and resounding smack fills the air.

Reese gives pause just for second before he pounces. He wraps his arms around her waist drawing her in as close as he can manage. Their faces are an inch away from each other when  he whispers and then he crashes his lips to hers.
