"Amelia mommy's home!!". i walk over to her making sure i dont fall in these shoes. "Ah Amelia i haven't seen you in ages. look you're so grown up. ive only been gone 3 months what happened to you. I see you took my advice last time I saw you." She looks at my clothes. My blood boils but i smile at her and say "it was good advice."
I watch her walk over to the island in the kitchen and rub her fingers on it to see if there was dirt. I see her light a cigarette and I mentally cringe. i cant get on her bad side you know what happened last time Amelia.
I walked over to her and offer her the fruit that I cut up earlier. She obviously denied because of too much vitamin C or something.
I suggest we go out for lunch. She calls her shofer and tells him to be here in 5. shes so rude to them. I wonder why they dont quit. In exactly 3.5 minutes hes here and waiting outside.
"Amelia honey, im going to go get changed im so under dressed." Once she starts walking up the stairs I hear her mumble "so are you, ungrateful daughter."
I wait for at least half an hour and then she comes back down looking like cruella deville off 101 dalmatians. I look at her and forced out "You look stunning mother." i hope she doesn't hear the hate in my voice. "Thank you daughter, we should leave now we dont want to keep Larry waiting.
"I will just be a second mother i have to go to the bathroom." I start walking away and hear her grunt.
just as i start walking i hear the doorbell ring and my mother answers it. Then i hear the voice that shouldn't be here. Its Lucas again. i walk to the back up the hallway and peek so i can see the door.
"Hello maam, Is Amelia here? my name's Lucas, I'm sure I got the right house. i stopped by yesterday and forgot my wallet here. " Then my mom has to use her evil ways and says "unfortunately shes gone with her boyfriend for a road trip." you can see an invisible smile come up to her lips. "Um- oh, can i just grab my wallet then." you can here the sadness in his voice. He walks over to the couch and digs in the crack a little bit before he pulls out his wallet. He walks to the door and starts to walk out but then my mum calls out "Young man, Never talk to my daughter again." shes says that very sternly then smiles sweetly at him.
I quietly walk down the hall then walk back up making sure my heels click as loud as they can. "Ah Amelia you ready to leave?" "Yes mother." i walk right past her and get into her rolls Royce. i thank Larry for holding the door open for me and i hop in the back. Once shes in she starts talking about how much money shes going to make with her new fashion line, and she already made 13 million.
i dont really listen anymore i just nod whenever i hear a pause but then i hear her bring up Lucas. "Yes and that boy whats his name, um, aha Lucas. are you guys close?" Well what are we were not close for sure. "No hes just a friend." she looks at me like im lying. "then why was his wallet at the house im paying for." she spat. She never calls it my house because she thinks im a ugly piece of her that just wonders on the earth with no meaning. "He came to the house yesterday to get information on what part im doing for our science project." i obviously lied about it so she doesn't get any ideas.
She looks at me with disgust. Once we get to the restaurant i hear her mumble under her but I didn't catch it so I left the subject alone. Once we got in the restaurant i look at her a decide complement her to get back on her good side before i get on her bad side. "You look very pretty, mum." She looks at me and says "dont call me that, that very unprofessional." I look at her and I keep replaying in my head, " get on her good side, get on her good side.." In my mind. I reply with "of course mom, i dont know why I would say that." She looks at me and smiles. Thats very weird. "Get all you want Amelia, its lunch. i want to spend it with my one and only daughter." my mom orders truffles and i order a poutine. My mom snarled at me because she thinks cheese is fattening. But I didn't care.
Once im done eating she drives me back to my house and kicks me out of her car. She has a plan, I know it.
