People always say "love is real" or "miracles happen you just have to stop searching for them". Well, trust me I stopped searching. Stopped searching, when my Aunt Monica died when I was about 11. Sad right? That's just the beginning of my story.
My name is Sam. I live in La Habra, California. An unknown city for a unknown girl. I guess you could say I'm a nerd, but when you have nothing else to do you study, right? I have friends. But is it really a friend if they use you to make fun of? I've never had a boyfriend. How can you if you don't let anyone see your face. I basically rush through the halls hoping to get to my next class without being tripped or bullied.
It was 1: 40 on a Tuesday. My favorite time if the day. It was art class! The teacher Mrs. Rashford is super nice and is always there for me. She was (as usual) blabbing on about some dead artist. While I went off into my own land.
I was waking up in this weird place. " Car." I whisper to myself. " What was that, honey?" My mom. She was my favorite person in the whole world! She was beautiful, smart, and really got me. "Shoot! You could hear that?" I think to myself. She chuckled. " Why yes, I could." " Am I really saying these things aloud? I need to work on that." " Ya, you do. You're terrible at it." she playfully joked. " I really am terrible." She didn't answer this time it must've been cause I finally said something in my head or she wanted me to think that. For some odd reason, I went down and tickled her leg. Mom let go of the wheel and turned around saying " I'm gonna get ya!" I looked at the front window and uncontrollably screamed until what I thought my was my lungs bursting. Until I realized that it was the air bag. Which made my mom scream in pain. We went tumbling down a hill and hit something hard till darkness overcame me. I was roughly awoken by lights and sirens and bulky men rushing toward me. I was carried up the hill still half unconscious. But that changed when I saw the limp legs of mom in a body bag. "NOOOO!" I scream and burst out the man's arms. I rushed to her and felt a river flowing down my cheeks." I'm sorry little girl. There was nothing we could do." a mysterious voice said. Tears rolled down my cheek as Mrs. Rashford brought me back to reality "Are you okay." I plastered on a fake smile, nodded weakly, and awkwardly walked out of the room.
*********
Hey guys this is my first chapter. I promise it gets better sorta sucky. Mom sort of has a big deal in this so keep your eye out. For all you directioners Louis and the boys will be in the 2 or 3 chapter depending on my ideas. vote comment etc.
I sprinted out the doors I didn't know what I was thinking. I could feel they glares darting at me. I didn't care I needed to get out of there. I couldn't take it anymore. I don't know what it was, the pressure, the bullies, or the realization that when Mom died I have no one else with me that could understand my complicated life.
I ran. It just felt natural, like I didn't know how to do anything else. I must've sprinted at least 2 or 3 miles when I stopped at a Starbucks. I was just going to get a free glass of water. Free is good when you have no money. I slowly dragged my body to the end of the line. There was this old man who couldn't decide on de-caf or regular. "If I get regular I won't be able to go to bed till 9! But if I get de-caf, I'll fall asleep driving again." I let out a deep breath of exhaustion. He flipped around and got the hint. "I'll take regular." he quickly ordered.
I was next. " I'll just take one tall water please." "She'll have a Grande sweet tea." a strong British accent greeted. I turned around to see a familiar face. He was a handsome man about my age maybe a little older. " No, just a tall water, please." " Please, my treat." the strange man offered. I flipped around to see an irritated cashier lady. " I can't let you do that. Those are almost six bucks." " Please, love, you look exhausted." Well he was right about that so he can't be completely crazy. " One grande sweet tea, please." I gave in like usaul, one of the reasons I get pushed around at school.
