The American air is a lot different from the afghan air.
I walk into my great-aunts door and see her siting on her red old chair watching the Chanel two news. My Great-Aunt came to America two years ago after her husband was shot by a Talib soldier.
"Oh, I didn't think to see you here so early." My aunt says walking over to me. I could tell she was having a hard time getting up so I guided her into my arms.
"Well, I woke up and couldn't wait to see you. I cannot believe its been two years since last time I saw you!" I say trying to be happy for my aunts sake. She sounds and looks so much like my mom. I sit down and we talking for what seems like hours. She gives my $200 dollars for food and $200 dollars for spending money.
I tried to keep her from giving me the money but she insisted.
When I leave, I get into my car and head to get something to eat. I decide on KFC because I was in the mood for some chicken. I get two legs and a small mash potatoes.
When I'm done eating, I throw my garbage away and wipe all of my crumbs off my table into a paper napkin and throw it away.
I get into my car and drive to the nearest paint shop. There is a Home Depot across the street so I just stick with that. I wanted some bright colors for my condo so I go back to the wall full of many weird named colors.
After about 45minutes of looking at paint, I decide on getting a pale orange for the kitchen, red for the hallways, tanish grey for the bathroom, dark purple for the guest bedroom and aqua for my bedroom. My condo will be beautiful. I go back to the rug section and pick out a pale purple rug for the guest room and a navy blue rug for my bedroom.
I grab a shelf, scone lights, and some air fresheners to make the condo smell like Cinnamon and Vanilla. I pay and the total comes to $125. I pay and walk to my car with all the bags. I place all of my purchase carefully on the back seats of my car ad drive to Walmart. When I get there, I lock my car and run inside quickly. I buy some hamburger, chips and dip, milk, soda, Eggo waffles, hamburger buns, cheese, and some cookies. I pay and the total comes to $30. I walk back to my car juggling all my food and put it into the trunk of my car.
On the way home, I stop and a strip mall to shop for some new clothes. First I do into rue 21 and pick out two new shirts that are on sale for $3 each. I pay and go to Old Navy. There, I buy a new lightweight jacket and another cheap shirt. I pay for my clothes and walk up to the next store. At debs, I buy five pairs of skinny jeans, two skirts, one dress, three pairs of earrings, and three pairs of shoes. After debs, juggling pay bags, I go to my last store, I small accessories store. I buy a set of make-up including blush, eyeliner, mascara, eye shadow, face glitter. I buy a new set of make-up brushes and I new case for all of it. I buy another pair of shoes and two more dresses that were with the few in the back corner. I pay for all of my things and go back to the car. I put all the stuff in the passenger seat and heat home. When I get home it's around 7pm. I turn on the T.V and sort all of my new things. I stack the paint in each room it goes to. I wash all my new clothes and put them away. I put all the food away and I try on my new shoes. By the time I'm done with everything I'm so tired I could fall to the ground. I eat some chips and drink some milk. I lay on the couch hoping to get a bed soon. I fall asleep to the T.V.
I dream about my family, the angels watching over me.
