Just so I don't confuse you, allow me to explain how this story is going to be. It is written as a script (more as if for a movie than a play). Things written induvidualy as a paragraph are stage notes or setting the scene. Things written with a character name before them along with a colin (for example Scar:) are things said. If something is after the colin with () around it it is a stage direction for that specific character.

This story is about how the conflict between Scar and Mufasa began. I hope you enjoy it :)

Some of the characters names are in Swahili and you may not recognise them so here they are:

Ndogo is Mufasa and Scar's sister. Ndogo means small.

Baba means father, he is Scar, Mufasa, and Ndogo's father

Aina means kind. Aina is Scar Mufasa and Ndogo's mother.

Zira means "keep off" she is a lioness included in the second lion king movie.

Fun facts:

rafiki is also included in this story and that means friend.

Kovu, who is Scar's heir in the second movie is simply Scar in Swahili

Scene 1

The scene begins on the Serengeti plain, there is a wide variety of animals such as zebras, giraffes, and antelope. Focus is on two lion cubs. One is brownish gold while the other is a darker brown. The lighter one is Mufasa and the darker one is Scar. Mufasa hops about while Scar lays on the ground.

Mufasa: Hey Scar, do you want to play a game?

Scar: (looking around) it's getting dark. Mom might be worried.

Mufasa: Come on, youre no fun!

Baba: (walks over) boys it's time to go home, it's getting late.

Mufasa: Oh, come on dad. Just a few more minutes?

Baba: No Mufasa, if your aw going to be king someday you need to learn to be on time.

Scar: Dad, will I be king someday too?

Baba: Your day will come, Scar. Now let's get back to Pride Rock.

Mufasa and Scar: Okay dad.

Scene 2

They are at Pride Rock. Their mother, Aina, is there to greet them, along with the other lionesses, and some female cubs. Two of these cubs are Sarabi and Zira. Sarabi is a dull off-white with smooth features, and brown eyes, while Zira is a tanish color with sharp angled features, redish eyes, and sharp teeth. The smallest of the cubs is light beige she has a very light color and blue eyes, her name is Ndogo.

Mufasa, Scar and Baba greet Aina and Ndogo.

Scar: Hi Mom.

Aina: Did you boys have fun today?

Mufasa: Yes, mama.

Aina: How about you Scar?

Scar: I guess...

Ndogo: Hey Mufasa, you want to fight. I bet I can beat you this time!

Mufasa: Oh yeah?

Aina: Ndogo! You are much to small to be fighting your older brother. He's much bigger than you!

Ndogo: Aw come on mom!

Baba: She's just looking out for you sweetie.

Sarabi: (sneaks up behind Mufasa and jumps on him, pinnning him) Got you!

Ndogo: How come Sarabi gets to fight with Mufasa and I dont?

Aina: It doesn't matter sweetie, Mufasa has to go out and talk with your dad. How about you go play with Sarabi. Zira, how about you play with them too?

Zira: I'd rather not.

Scar: Mama...can I go with Mufasa and Dad?

Aina: No honey, you have to stay here. How about you play with Zira.

Scar: Yes mama, but can I stay and talk with you first?

Aina: Of course, Scar. Ndogo, you go run along and play.

Ndogo and Sarabi go to play in the field while Zira wonders back into the cave. Mufasa and Baba also leave. Only Aina and Scar remain.

Scar: Mama, am I going to be king someday like Mufasa?

Aina: Of course you are honey.

Scar: Than why does Baba always talk about him being king and not me?

Aina: Well, Mufasa gets to be king first.

Scar: how come?

Aina: he's oldest.

Scar: when do I get to be king?

Aina: Well, when Mufasa isn't around to be king anymore.

Scar: That's a long time from now. Do you think I'll be a good king?

Aina: I think you'll make a wonderful king, Scar.

Scar: But Mufasa's stronger than me.

Aina: He may be strong, but you are very smart. Don't forget that you are special too. Now, how about you go play with Zira, I'm sure she's feeling a little lonely.

Scar: Yes mama

Scar exits the scene to the cave Zira went to. Aina is left alone and she sighs.
