"Maddison!, I need you to walk the dog." My father shouted from the kitchen. With out a fuss I hopped to my feet and called jake our golden retriever. He use to live at my uncles but recently he's been staying at ours. As my uncle downsized and no longer has space for him but didn't want to give him to a stranger.

Putting the collar around jakes neck I set off into the field to give him a run. Soon after letting him rome around freely I started to regret not putting him on the lead, my uncle had failed to tell me that jake liked chasing rabbits and if there's one thing our fields not short on it rabbits.

Jake would never hurt the rabbits only chase them until they can not ran anymore then he'd simply just bark at them. He saw it as a game, one the rabbits weren't to keen on participating in.

"Jake! come back." I shouted at him as he ran off into cluster of trees. sighing to myself I began to run after him.

I could see Jake ahead of me weaving in and out of the long grass around the trees in an attempt to catch up to what I assume to be a rabbit. I stopped for a second and laughed at his attempt of playing with a rabbit. slowly I continued to walk towards Jake. leaning down I was inches away from grabbing his collar when his ears pricked up and he darted further into the forest.

"Jake!" I yelled again and ran after him as fast as I could. Jake didn't make an effort to slow up just continued to run at full speed. after a minute or two I lost sight of Jake. franticly I continued searching for him.

Pushing through over grown trees I came to a holt when I saw Jake was not alone.

As he looked up at me from cuddling Jake on the floor I saw his piercing blue eyes staring back at me.

"You know I'm pretty sure this is classed as stalking" I called out to Zak.
"Well technically I was here first so your the stalker, and besides I thought you weren't talking to me now." He asked.

"I'm not, Jake come." I called

Jake just sat next to Zak on the floor.

"Say it." Zak spoke up. As he looked deep into my eyes from afar.

"Say what?" I asked

"What's on your mind?, what is so bad that your finding it hard to look at me?" Zak asked intrigued.

"My father told me your a thief..."

Zak sighed to himself. "I only took what I needed, I couldn't risk being noticed." He explained as he looked to the floor.

"What do you mean you couldn't risk being noticed, are you wanted by the police?"

"Kinda but not for reasons you think." He said looking to the muddy ground. The mud still hadn't dried up from the rain.

"Then what?"

"My parents are looking for me." Zak spoke up

"Why not go home to them?" I asked curious

"It's complicated..." was all Zak said.

I sighed and ran my hand through my hair. I couldn't resist I had to ask," what did you steal?"

"A loaf of bread and a couple apples." He answered instantly, as if he wasn't ashamed of what he'd done.

I put my hand into my pocket and pulled out a little snack flapjack that I didn't get time to eat as my father left me to man the stall alone.

I tossed it towards Zak and he caught it,"thanks. If you need any help with something feel free to ask." He smiled as he put the flapjack into his pocket.

A thought washed over me and I just had to ask," are you any good at hacking?"

Zak narrowed his eyes slightly," just because I live on the street and am wanted by the police doesn't mean I'm some criminal mastermind if that's what your thinking." Zak laughed.

"No it's not that. It just I got locked out of my phone and need to get back in. My brother said he'll do it but he's asking for way to much money so I thought maybe you could hack it for me." I lied.

"Sorry I'm no good at hacking. How much was your brother asking for?"

"£5." I answered.

Without hesitation Zak reached into his pocket and pulled out a £5 note. He held it out to me.

"You stole when you had money to pay for it!" I scolded.

"I've saved a little money for emergencies or if I decide I want to go home." Zak pleaded his case.

"Then why give it to me?" I asked confused.

"One because you sound like you need it more then me right now and two you helped me out and I'm very grateful." Zak explained.

"I can't take it, I won't." I said

"Maddy please, take it." He asked again as he took a step closer to me.

Sighing I took the £5," I'll pay you back. I promise."

"Don't worry about it."

"No. I'll pay you back!" I insisted.

"Ok." He excepted as he realised excepting my turns was the only way I'd except his.

"Thank you." I said with. Smile.

"Nice dog, Jake right?" Zak asked as he played with Jake on the floor.

"Yeah and thanks."

"How old is he?" Zak asked as he stopped playing and looked up to me.

"Um, eight I think."

"You think?" Zak asked narrowing his eyes slightly.

"He was my uncles dog."

"Oh..." Zak said in a sad tone.

"No,no he's not dead just downsized he didn't want to give Jake to a stranger so gave him to us." I explained. Looking up I saw a thick dark cloud of rain coming over the field. A loud clap of funder shook the valley freaking out Jake. His ears pricked up and he ran with a mad scared glint in his eyes.

Like a bullet out of a barrel, Jake was gone. I'd lost him again. Only this time i didn't see where he went as the rain pored down.

"Maddy go back to your house and tell your family, I'll stay out here and help look for him."

"No he could of gone into the other fields and it's too hard to see in this weather, come back to the house with me and then we'll all head out together. I know these fields a lot better then you, your only be going in circles, no offence." I began to shout as the rain was so loud now.

"No offence taken" he said as he followed me to my house. To inform my family.
