It was the first day of the Reno International Jazz Festival and I was still astonished that our little jazz band was actually here. Previously the furthest we had gone was an hour and half drive up to the University of Idaho's jazz festival now we were in an entirely different state.

The lights and sounds of Reno was like nothing I had ever seen. I come from a pretty small town and proudly professed myself to be a "hick from the sicks." The flasing colors, clangs of tne machines and even ladies up on a trapeze were overwhelming to me. I could almost taste the choas.

After wandering around Circus, Circus hotel for a pay phone. I needed to be a good daughter and check in with my mom. It's a traditional rule that we need to call upon arrival while out on trips. However, it's after that phone call that life as I knew it would change forever. Standing playing a pinball machine I saw the boy that I was destined to love. All sights and sounds faded away until it was just he and I. Corny? Yes but it is the truth. I thought he looked like a young greek god down to play amongst us mere mortals.

AN: This is a very rough draft. Grammer and spelling has not been checked. Feel free to politely point out any mistakes. Dedication to the author who encouraged me to write this. Thank you!
