Fluttering my eyes open I check the time- 5:00am. Normally I sleep in way past 6:45, but todays special! Its Friday... and my date! Flopping my blankets to the side I hop out of bed with a spring in my step.

Hmmm. What to wear... Sitting in the middle of my walk in closet I look around at my enormous collection. From black to red, Gucci to Pac sun, my closet is a rainbow of garments. {I might have a slight addiction} Finally deciding, I slip on the leopard sweater and black leggings.

Moving on to the bathroom I put on black winged eyeliner, and mascara. While leaving the bathroom I realize that it's only 5:37. Killing some time I pull out my laptop and log into Pandora. While listening to some Glee song I scoll through Tumblr. I then start searching 'Matt Summers'. I swear I'm not a stalker! Well maybe I am, but I just want to see what he has on his page.

Instantly catching my attention is the breathtaking pictures. They all have the same watermark in the corner; Matt's name in curvy writing. He wasn't joking when he said he loved photography. His pictures are of nature, simple objects, anything really. But he takes an ordinary picture and captures the moment perfectly. My favorite is the one that captures the city lights, the angle and composition are amazing. It's so easy to see that Matt doesn't just aim the camera and take a picture randomly. He knows what he wants and he captures it.

While sharing all of Matt's pictures my eyes quickly glance at the time. 7:18. Crap. I lost track of time being so engrossed on his profile. I hastily shut down my laptop, grab my bag, and a pair of shoes. While flying down the stairs my foot misses a step, giving me a mini-heart attack. Ugghh.

Flinging my hair to the side, I rush into the kitchen. Without missing a beat Ella hands me a small sack, more than likely containing breakfast. I love how she knows that without eating in the morning my whole day will be messed up. I give her an appreciative smile, say bye to Mark, and pad toward the door. Bending down to slip on my shoes I realize I have one purple flat, and one black converse. "You have got to be kidding me,"

I grab the purple flat and sprint up the stairs, skipping every other one. By the time I reach my room my chest is heaving and my lungs are on fire. Bending over by my door frame I breathe raggidly, why am I so out of shape?! Come on Haley, you're going to be late! I jog over to my closet, without tripping {thank god} and switch the purple flat with the black converse.

After successfully leaving the house {intact, and hopefully not forgetting anything} I hop into my car and jet off to school. I promise myself that I will obey the traffic laws, but getting to school on time is the higher priority. Getting a detention... just thinking of it makes me cringe.

At lightning speed I maneuver intricately through the packed hallways.

"Hey, watch it! These are new shoes!" Do people really find it necessary to travel in packs like wolves? And then they expect me to not "scuff" their shoes.

Once I finally reach my locker I hastily enter in my code, P-O-O-P. {Yeah it's a little weird, but I will never forget it} Opening my locker I stuff my bag into the small space and grab my trig text-book. Slamming my locker closed, maybe a little too harshly, I then mess the letters on my lock up. Turning around I groan at the sight of the crowd. Pushing, pulling, and elbowing is the only way to get to class. Pulling my sleeves up on my sweater, I submerge myself into the sea of teenagers.

The rest of the day goes by as slow as can be. Isn't it funny how when anticipating something time slows down, but when it's actually happening time speeds up? All day my eyes kept shifting towards the clock, I clicked my pen, hummed, and tried listening to the teachers grumble with their lessons. But there was this little voice in the back of my mind constantly reminding me that me, Haley Trenton has a date.. TONIGHT! And I probably looked like a crazy person, but I couldn't help but smile. Until I realized that it isn't until later today. That made me scrunch my face and furrow my eyebrows.

The briiing of the bell, signaling the start of lunch, has me jumping out of my seat and rushing to put my stuff away. I feel like the faster I move and rush, then the faster my date will start. Can you tell I don't get out much?

Stepping into the cafeteria I glance at the options. Meatloaf? Definitely not my favorite. But even the lunch lady's meatloaf can't ruin my mood. I even have a smile on my face as she slops the gloop onto my tray. Walking over to our lunch table I spot Matt and Lizzy whispering about something. Being as quiet and sneaky as I can, I listen to what they are saying.

"Nononononono," Liz flicks whatever he said off into space."But what exactly could I do? I'm hopele"- It's at this syllable that Liz's eyes shift towards mine and she clears her throat, cutting off any words from Matt's mouth. "Hey guys," I sit down next to Liz {she's closer, I know I'm lazy}, "what are you... chatting about?" And to act nonchalantly, I take a bite of the oh so undelicious meatloaf. Staring at Liz with my most innocent face, I watch her gulp slowly, and start picking at her nails.

"Just ummm," She glances down again. "Stuffffff," Matt snorts at the lame excuse but fails at covering it up with a cough. Realizing it's probably a lost cause I shrug my shoulders and dig into lunch. And when Liz mouths to Matt, "Later," I pretend I didn't see and continue eating lunch.

Making small talk and laughing at Liz's outbursts during lunch kept my mind off of waiting for tonight. But 7th period was a different story. If someone would like to explain to me why a 55 minute class felt like 5 hours, go ahead. It wouldn't have been so bad if Matt and I weren't on opposite sides of the room. He glanced back at me, staring intently. About 2 seconds later my phone buzzed:

Hiiya :)

Before glancing up at him with a grin, I quickly typed a reply.

After rushing home, I glanced at the clock; 2:13. Crap. I only have a few more hours to find the perfect outfit. I dialed Liz's number as I bounded up the stairs, making way more noise than necessary. While flipping through my shirts, I heard my perky friend, "Haley! Okay, I just stopped at McDonalds real quick, needed my Oreo McFlurry, and I'm on my way now."

Sighing at how lucky I am to have her as a friend, "Loooove you!"

"Muaaah!"

"Muuahhh!"

~

About 47 minutes later we laid sprawled on my bed, surrounded by mountains of clothes. Welcome to the Hima-Haley's Clothes, heehee punny.

Glancing at the clock I see that it's already 5:30.

"Okay Liz, which outfit, and please be serious." I held up a glittery blue dress shirt and leggings. Liz immediately shook her head, ignoring her, I held up the other choice. A black, light sweater and skinny jeans.

"I like choice number...... Dos!" Holding up two fingers. "It's simple, perfect for a first date. Plus you have NO idea where he's taking you, sooo don't want to be overdressed." She kinda mumbled at the end.. yup, she definitely knows where he's taking me.

Instead of making her elaborate, I slipped on the outfit, adding a pair of boots. Feeling annoyed with my hair, I threw it up in a quick and simple messy bun. After touching up my makeup from this morning and adding a necklace for some color, I plopped down next to Liz.

"All this mess," My mouth hung open as I found the words. "And I ended up wearing the outfit I picked from the beginning." I don't know if it was the words that I said, my blank look, or both, but my bestfriend starting laughing so hard that no sound was coming out. And me being me, I also started laughing, so hard that my stomach ached. Who needs to do crunches for abs when you can just hysterically laugh?

Right as I was crouched over, clutching my aching stomach, the doorbell rang. Increasing my bubbliness, and the butterflies in my stomach.
