Chapter Nine:

Four hours of sleep and three cups of water later, I was sat up in bed and coherent enough to speak to Celia, who sat at the end of the mattress, her breathing as a quiet as a mouse.

"I'm sure you must have questions." She said softly, her hand reaching out to rub my knee. I frowned at her, which questions were more important than the others?  What is she? What is he? Who are they? Why am I important? Why didn't she tell me any of this?

"What is Cayden?" I shivered, remembering the claws that had struck my face and the inhuman grip Cayden had had on my wrist. Celia sighed, as if questioning herself on what to say.

"Cayden is the Crowned Prince of The Supernatural Order...or World. He's...He's...Its hard to explain Sky, most likely to hard for you to wrap your head around at the moment. Perhaps an easier question would be better?" She suggested, probably glancing down at the sheets I had over my legs.

I shook my head, "Tell me Celia or I will never forgive you for not telling me about this sooner. Cayden is your cousin...if I remember correctly, so that means you are related to him. So what is he, and what are you?" I narrowed my eyes at her.

"The Royal Family, well the main line which Cayden is a part of is all sorts of supernatural people. He's part Vampire, although that was six hundred years ago when that family member was a part of the royals, so I guess that's really not a part of him, he's part human of course you've got to start somewhere he's pa-"

"Stop." I stated firmly, successfully calming her rambling. "Just state what he is and not how long ago it was."

I imagine Celia nodded, forgetting my blindness, and continued more calmly,

"I will list them from most genes to least genes. Werewolf, Faerie, Mermaid/Merman, Human, and most likely Vampire. There may be a few I have forgotten or misplaced considering the line, but those are the most popular." I blinked at her words.

"Th-That cannot be real. You're shitting with me right? An eighteenth birthday joke right? Ha-Ha funny, r-right? We are still in the house and you just put me in another room? Right?" I gulped. Am I in a house with mentally insane people? With no hope of escaping?

"No, Sky. I'm telling the truth. And I'm half mermaid and half werewolf." I felt her hand coming to touch my face and I flinched away, chewing on my bottom lip. How can I possibly believe any of this?

"You're crazy!" I spat, scooting backwards and pulling my blankets with me, shivering slightly. Celia sighed, her hands probably running through her hair and the color red floated around her showing that she was angry and frustrated. Did she actually believe she was a werewolf and a mermaid?  "Honey if you're sick in the head maybe you should stay at the home until you get better." I reached out to touch her arm in a kind way and she growled.

I yelped and jumped away, gulping. Wait...did she just growl? Sh-She literally just growled. "S-So you're not lying?" My eyes widened and I scooted away, all of my nightmares involving the yellow eyed man floating back to me. I whimpered hugging my knees.

"No, I'm most definitely not lying. I was sent by Cayden to watch over you at the house. I'm not actually schizophrenic. He saw you at one of the gates when you were younger, he knew there was a connection between you two but he didn't know what, so he dismissed it. Since he's going to be king soon, his parents have been bringing in ladies from across the entire world, for about five years, to see if he would court them, none of them seemed like the one." She paused and I felt some sort of jealousy rise in my chest at the thought of Cayden being with someone else...
