Three days have passed since y/n left her parents. The only time she ever stopped was to go to the bathroom or sleep. She had a good supply of yogurt and berry bars until now. She only had one left. As for how she looked, her hair was a mess from the heat that has increased as she traveled south. She could've sworn her skin was going to get dry and peel like a leaf soon. She looked up the sky and saw what looked like a laughing sun. But in her eyes, it seemed like a hallucination. Has the sun always been like that? Ugh! This can't go on! As soon as I find civilization, I'm gonna put my stuff aside and rest there for the time being. Then when I'm able, maybe I can get a car and keep driving. Problem is I have no license and gas costs so much.
"Uuuuuuuugghh!! I just wanna shower and rest!! Even a cold shower wouldn't be so bad!!" Y/n hollered. Suddenly, she saw something. A pile? No, an enormous mountain of some sort. But all the hills in the Nevada desert were as tan as the sand. Certainly, there were no grey mountains in site. Y/n rubbed her eyes and saw clearly. A city? In the middle of the Nevada desert? Maybe more than that, a kingdom? Probably. The city had many many buildings, perhaps stone and adobe, piled up around each other and at the very top was what looked like to be a castle.
"I can't be seeing things right? I certainly don't remember reading about something like this in any textbooks or online." Y/n said. "Maybe it's not a mirage." She decided to take her chances and walked towards the city before her. It took her twenty minutes to get there. Once she got to the city, she was awestruck. It looked like a village and around the buildings and what not where three-eyed skulls.
"Weird." Y/n grabbed her stuff and walked along the stone path. There were places like Deathly Topic, American Death, Death Fabrics, Bains and Noble, Veronica's Deathly Secret, Airy Wear and Tom and Tim's Chocolate Crypt. Y/n wanted to eat right now, but couldn't. She only wanted to find a place to settle and refresh. She looked up and sighed heavily. Suddenly, she felt a sharp pounding in her head that shocked her. Her vision began to grow blurry as she began to sway. As this happened, a guy with short brown hair and tan skin noticed.
"Hey, are you okay?" Before Y/n could reply, she collapsed.
"Hey! Hey, can you hear me?" he cried. Y/n couldn't focus anymore. Her vision blackened as the voices around her faded. The last thing she heard was "Somebody get help!"
