Speak, Skip You!

     Speak....Skip You! Why do you do this to my heart!? Melendia why do you treat your friends actually friend like crap! Than somebody else wants to be your friend but your two paranoid to see that! He likes you, don't judge everyone! Everyone isn't like everyone else! God!

Now I got that out my system I can tell you why I just had that break down. I'm reading a book for English in school called "Speak" By Laurie Halle Anderson. It's a good book, don't get me wrong. The plot is well developed and so are the characters. But the characters us what got me mad.

Spoil Alert!!!!!

Melendia the main character is now an outcast cause of her calling the police at a party she went to. Everyone at this party got upset with her and now's hates her. She goes to highschool with no friends. She thinks everything will go back to normal if she tells what happens at the party but she's scared what would happen. So she keeps quiet.
She soon gets a friend name Heather but is annoyed by her. She doesn't like Heather but needs her so she won't be an outcast or alone. At home Melinda never talks to her parents about what happens at the party which make things worse. Heather knows there's something wrong and wants Melinda to tell her what was wrong. But she doesn't. Melinda basically speaks her mine about Heather and Heather gets mad and breaks up her friendship with her.
Later in the story Melinda and her lab partner David starts talking.

This is what makes me mad.

David seems to like Melinda. But ever since the day she had a bad experience with a guy, she fears all guys. She doesn't trust David after all the stuff he did for her. Giving her notes when he knows she's not paying attention, helps her with Social Studies, and other small stuff. But she doesn't trust him after that day.

OK, I understand you had a really bad experience with a boy but not all boys are like that. He sticks up for you and helps you out and you and all you say is "Thank you" in a dull tone. Heck Nah! She sees that signs that he might like her but just brushes them off. This make me even more mad. Cause at the end, after she finally tells what happens, they don't get together. My heart dies! I want to jump into the story and become cupid. Make them a match made in heaven.
