I walked around the backyard in the cold air, my boots sank into the mud as the dark clouds rolled overhead.

"There!" Eva said excitedly as he pointed to the muddy grass.

"I see it," I spoke as I crouched next to the toddler, "you get that side okay?"

I circled to the opposite side as she slowly walked around, her little hands raised in  attempt to catch it, only to have the giant frog hop out of reach. I was able to catch it with both of my hands, but fell to my knees in the process.

"Yay!" Eva clapped, shuffling through the mud to get a closer look. I showed her the big frog as she outstretched her small hands.

"No, no, no!" I said before she plopped down in the mud to play with the frog.
I sighed as I watched how she examined the frog.

"Don't hurt him okay." I said as I heard footsteps squish in the mud behind me.

"Look! We got a frog!" Eva squealed excitedly as he kneeled down beside us.

"That's great." Harrison said to Eva as he looked at me kneeling in the mud and chuckled.

"Why are you laughing at me when you have mud all over your butt?" I asked him.

"I don't have any-"

I pushed his knee, making him lose his balance, landing flat on his butt, making Eva giggle loudly.

"You might wanna check again." I laughed.

"What about the mud on your jacket?" Harrison smiled widely as he asked me.

I should have known better, I glanced down at my clothes and back at Harrison just in time to see him putting a hand on my back and a handful of mud on my stomach. I reached down grabbing two handfuls and hugging him back as we both laughed and Eva giggled and clapped.

"Okay, okay." I laughed, sitting on the ground.

"I'm sorry, babe." He smiled at me, "You have a little bit on your face though." He gently touched my cheek, smearing mud on my face in the process.

"Seriously?" I smiled.

"Yeah, seriously." Harrison flashed that gorgeous smile of his.

Eva ran past me, hugging him, placing her muddy hands all over Harrison's face.

"There you go! Thank you Eva!" I laughed and clapped once as Harrison hugged her, trying to wipe his face with the sleeve of his jacket with no luck as thunder rumbled overhead.

"We should head home and get cleaned up." I stood up and took Eva from his arms. Harrison got to his feet with ease, giving me a quick kiss on the lips and touching Eva's nose with the tip of his finger.

"Here, I'll take her." He said as we walked back to the house.

We climbed the steps of the wooden back porch as it started to sprinkle. I opened the sliding glass door and followed them inside.

Harrison helped me change Eva, dressing her in her white and pink pajamas and putting her to bed.

He followed me out of her room, still full of mud.

"Seems like just a few months ago that you agreed to be my girlfriend, and now we have a child." Harrison chuckled.

"Time really does fly, doesn't it?" I teased as I turned to look at him.

"I hope she has your brown eyes," he walked past me to his room and started to dig in his drawer, "or him. Boy or girl I don't mind. Maybe your dark hair as well."

"Who?" I caught his attention as I stood at the door.

"Um.." he looked embarrassed as he dropped his gaze and pulled out a gray shirt and sweats, "Thank you for helping me with my niece today."

"No," I walked towards him, "who?"

"I-I- was just talking to myself." He rambled, avoiding my eyes, "Don't pay attention to me."

"Harrison Osterfield," I smiled up at him, "have you already planned out our kids?"

"No." He denied in his adorable accent.

"You have." I smiled widely.

"You don't think it's weird?" He looked down at me.

"If anything, it makes me love you more." I chuckled.

"Well, in that case." He smiled widely, "I have thought about it. Our kids, our house... how I'm gonna ask you to marry me someday." Harrison wrapped his arms around me, my head fitting perfectly under his chin

"And you planned all this out in just a few months?" I asked him.

"No." He said plainly, "I started the day I met you."
