Thomas was pacing back and forth while messing with his fingers. Tomorrow was his first day of college and he really didn't want to leave his family. He heard a knock on his door.
"Come in."Thomas said. The door slowly opened to reveal Thomas' little brother,Chuck. Chuck was the youngest of Thomas' family. It was Alby,the oldest,he's also Thomas' step-brother,then Thomas and then Chuck.
Thomas smiled and said"Hey Chuck."Chuck smiled and hugged his brother,"Have fun at college. Me and Alby will miss you and mom too,of course."Thomas hugged back. He didn't know why he was so nervous. When Alby left for college he seemed chill and relaxed but Thomas thought in the inside he was freaking out. Thomas always wanted to be like his oldest brother. Alby always did good things and always made the right choice.
He heard another knock. He looked up to see Alby. Chuck and Thomas pulled away and Thomas hugged Alby. Alby chuckled and said"Nervous,eh?"Thomas nodded and once again Alby chuckled. "Don't worry is not that bad,college is pretty fun. There's a lot of girls."Thomas nodded and chuckled. Chuck smiled and joined the hug.
"C'mon Tom,time to go!"Peter,Thomas' step-dad and Alby's dad,yelled from downstairs. They all pulled away at once and Thomas grabbed his bags and boxes,with the help of Alby. They walked slowly down the stairs because they didn't want to loose their balance and fall over and having everything spill out of the boxes and bags.
Once Alby and Thomas reached the car they put the boxes and bags into the back of Thomas' car. Thomas smiled as his mom pulled him in for a hug. He heard her sniffle. "Aw mom,don't cry."Thomas said as he pulled away and wiped her tear. She smiled and said"Alby said the same thing when he left. Agh,I already lost two of my boys and I'm not ready to lose Chuckie boy."Thomas smiled and Alby chuckled while Chuck blushed.
"Don't worry mom,I'll be fine. I'll try to call you everyday."Thomas said. She nodded and she let her husband say good-bye to his son. He hugged Thomas and Thomas hugged back. "Have fun and don't get in trouble."Peter said.
After a few other good-byes Thomas was set to leave. As he pulled the car out he saw his mom start to cry into his step-dad's shoulder and Alby ruffle Chuck's bouncy,curly,brown hair. He smiled and drove off.
