Chapter Thirteen

I'm lying in my bed when a knock sounds at my door. The sound feels distant, almost muted by the heavy thoughts weighing down my mind. "It's open," I call out, not wanting to get up.

The door creaks open, and soft footsteps approach. "Bibi, are you hungry?" Aunt Janet's voice is as gentle as ever, filled with concern.

I shake my head, burrowing deeper into the blankets. "No, I just want to lay here," I murmur, my voice barely audible.

There's a pause, then I feel her hand poking my side, a playful attempt to bring some lightness into the room. "Listen, Bibi, I know the path life just took seems dark right now, but it's always that way before the dawn."

I let out a sigh, more of a release of pent-up frustration than anything. "I love you, Aunt Janet, but I don't think even your wisdom can make me feel better."

She doesn't miss a beat. "Okay... how about I lay down with you?" she asks, smiling softly as she slides onto the bed beside me, not waiting for an answer.

Despite myself, I chuckle lightly, the warmth of her presence slowly chipping away at the ice around my heart. "I'm glad you're here," I admit, feeling the corners of my mouth tug up just slightly.

"Family is the most important thing. I couldn't not be here right now," she says, her sigh carrying a weight of its own as she settles in next to me.

I turn on my side to face her, searching her eyes for the answers I desperately need. "Titi, what do you think is going to happen to him?" My voice is laced with fear, a small crack in the facade I've been trying to maintain.

Her frown deepens, worry etched across her face. "I don't know. The scariest part of this is waiting for the other shoe to drop."

I hum in agreement, the uncertainty gnawing at me. "I feel like ten shoes have already dropped. He didn't just drag Dad through the mud; he didn't have anything nice to say about me either. Just because I refused to be filmed by him," I say, bitterness creeping into my voice.

"Yeah, but you have thicker skin than your dad. He's much more sensitive. It hurts him much deeper. It makes you mad, but you don't care what they say. That's why I don't worry about you being in the spotlight," she says, giving me a gentle nudge.

A knock at the doorway pulls our attention, and we both look over to see JD, Aunt Janet's boyfriend, standing there with a smile. "Janet, your mother needs you," he says softly, his presence calm and steady.

She gets up, giving me one last reassuring look. "You'll be just fine, chickadee. Don't worry, be happy."

I laugh as they leave, the sound a bit hollow but genuine. It's funny how relationships work. JD might not be the most attractive man, but he makes her happy, and that's what matters. It makes me miss the private moments between me and Prince.

Flashback

Spud threw a party at Paisley and everyone in the city was invited. Yes, he seriously answers to it I swear. There were a lot of celebrities there and everyone was fighting to get to him on stage.  After two sets he grabbed my hand and let the band play during the intermission. Pulling me into the back he then let his hands slide all over my body. Once we were behind a locked door he hiked my dress up and found my secret place.

" Could you be, the most beautiful girl in the world? " He sang to me while rubbing me tantalizingly slow.

My legs shake as two fingers slide up and down my slit, getting coated with my juices. When he felt they were he slowly enters my dripping core and pumps in and out in a mind-numbing pace. " Fuck me Spud, please don't tease me. "
