So, this is my latest creation. I guess it's a mixture of a bunch of my past stories, and I'm very proud of it. So, I hope you enjoy:)

Let's get something straight.

I do not have a boyfriend, nor do I want a boyfriend.

You heard right. I, Nora Marie Baker, do not want a boyfriend. With my luck, he would dump me within the first hour because of my inability to hold a decent conversation. And, on another note, I wouldn't know what to do with one. Do I just kiss him and leave him alone in a corner? I mean, how often does he eat?

Now, let's get another thing straight. I'm not one of those girls who is totally against marriage and anything having to deal with romance and love. To be honest, I'm the biggest hopeless romantic I know. But, you must understand that at my school, the pickings are slim. The maturity level of the male population in my grade is lower than average. They aren't interested in commitment, and think that girls are just there for their own use. So I - the girl looking for the next Nicholas Sparks protagonist - have no hope in finding a decent partner.

Sure, I've been flirted with, I've had countless pickup lines thrown my way, and maybe a cat call or two, but I've never had a true boyfriend. I have had my first kiss, shockingly enough. It was at a party in the eighth grade. We were playing Spin the Bottle, and I got stuck with Malcolm Reese. When I kissed him, he giggled like a school girl, which made me grimace. But then, he didn't come to school the following Monday, as he was sick with mono.

So, to sum it all up, I have had one kiss with a kid that got sick soon after, I've never had a boyfriend, and I don't want one.

And no one, not even a handsome, leather jacket wearing, motorcycle riding, heartbreaking heartthrob, will change my mind.
