Once upon a time, there was a powerful kingdom called the Lumen kingdom.
This beautiful land was ruled by two ruthless leaders. What made them the most powerful kingdom was that this one was ruled by giants. They had a son who was soon to be crowned the king.
At night, the entire world would become dark until the sun rises in the morning.
The son was a reckless boy who often acted before he thought. One day, he was strolling around the kingdom when he was approached by one of the palace guards.
They told him that the king demanded his sons presence immediately. So, the young prince followed the knight back to the castle.
His father said that he should be out more often. 'Play with the other kids' he said. The prince simply told his father he would. The elegant queen saw this coming so she got her son a white ball. He graciously accepted the gift but didn't specifically promise to go out and play with other people.
Instead, the prince went and played with it by himself. Throughout the day, he would kick the ball around, having it sport dents and bruises. This little charade went on for weeks until his parents grew suspicious and had a guard follow their son.
They had discovered the prince's secret and confronted him immediately. As punishment, the king and queen had an official archer launch the ball off of the world to make sure that their son never comes in contact with it again.
Because of the night sky being completely dark, the kingdom had hunting issues and suffered. The prince soon became king and had a mage cast a spell on the ball.
It would light up towards a certain point in the month then the magic would dwindle and it would go dark again. They called it Luna but after years of the name being passed around, it translated to being the Moon.
