I am finally here. Although I feel better to be helping people I just can't get the looke on my mother's dead face out of my head. Every time I close my eyes. The day I got here I met a girl named Maddie. We quickly became good friends. I had learnt that she was in the same position I was. Almost all of her family was fightning in the war. And her mother had died when she younger. Today we are going to start trating the wounded.

I heard someone yelling my name when I sat my journal down. Right as I got up Maddie ran into the room looking terrified.
"We have a patient. Hurry!"
We both ran out of our room and down the hallway. When we entered the hospital I was shocked. There were so many soldiers.
Maddie led me to a patient that had a broken leg and a burn going down part of his face. I started putting medicine on the burns while Maddie started re-setting his leg.
I felt so bad for the man. He was in so much pain and there wasn't much we could do about it.
About the time we finished we were told we had another patient. Maddie and I walked over to the other patient and I couldn't believe it. Laying on the bed was my older brother.
