Enchanting
Preface
Once upon a time, a long time ago, there lived a woman called Mineveldra. She was queen of the villiage of enchantresses located a little ways away from the kingdom of Niull. Her beauty and power were known far and wide. One king wanted to espouse the beautiful woman and use her powers to help his kingdom. He sent a great army to destroy her villiage and capture her. The enchantresses fought back but their powers could only do so much against an army of thousands of men. As a last resort, Mineveldra sent a message to the king of Niull begging him to help her. He sent his army to come to their aid, and he easily defeated the evil, cowardly, and weak king of Dregonvail. The king of Niull, like many others, was bewitched by Mineveldra's beauty. He was so entranced that when his first child was born, he invited her and the other enchantresses to celebrate the birth with their kingdom. The day of he celebration, the ballroom of the castle was decorated magnificently and all of the chandeliers were lit. The baby boy was wrapped in purple blankets of silk and satin and laid in a solid gold crib. All of the kingdom was dressed in their finest to honor the prince. The queen was clothed in velvet and jewels and gold. She was a pretty young thing with brown hair and grey eyes. The king was young and fine looking with fair hair and a crown that was taller than his head. He looked at his baby boy like there was nothing more important in the world. Indeed, he felt he would sell his subjects into slavery or give up his life if it meant something great for prince Norward. It was at that moment that Mineveldra and her subjects came into the room. The way they moved could not be described as walking, they glided in, their dainty feet never seeming to touch the floor. They were more graceful than swans and their beauty surpassed that of every other woman in the room so much so that nearly every one grew enraged with jealousy. The glow that emanated from them marked them for what they were. It was faint tonight, they glowed more strongly when in the sun. Most of the enchantresses waited at the front of the crowd. Only Mineveldra stepped up to greet the king. She curtsied. He kissed her hand. She said to him "It is an honor to be invited here and be with everybody. We have never been to a celebration like this and we are all very excited. Your majesty, you have saved us all. I would like your permission to grant your kingdom a gift in return. I would like to bestow a gift on the baby. May I have your permission kind sir?" her voice was as beautiful and full of magic as the rest of her was. The king was a mere man and could never resist such an offer from this beautiful enchantress. He said "It would be wonderful to recieve your gift." Mineveldra smiled and began to cast her spell. The kingdom watched as light emanated from her fingers and she began to cast the spell. "From this day forward," she said. "Every female not of royal or magical blood who's age is within five years of this child's will fall deeply and unconditionally in love with him upon first sight. He shall be immune from all harm caused by humans and he shall be handsome beyond imagination." the light shot from her fingers and onto the baby. He was encased in the light for a bit. When the light faded, it revealed the most beautiful baby that anyone could have ever imagined. The kingdom gasped in delight. Mineveldra and her enhantresses faded away until there was nothing but glittering shards of light in the air.
