Deja Pov

I didn't want to make today seem like a repeat of a few years ago when my parents left, but I still cried. I can't wait until next month because I can't stand to live without my mama and my daddy. I sat in the window and cried, tear after tear fell as I watched my daddy walk out of the door with his bags, and Roderick helping him to the taxi. I couldn't stand to watch this so I stopped looking out the window only to stare at the bare wall in front of me. I couldn't take sitting here anymore, I sprung to my feet and ran out the door.

"Daddy wait." I cried as I rushed to his side.

"Yea baby girl?" He turned around and dropped his bags as I rushed into his arms.

"I have something I would like to say to you." I smiled looking into his eyes.

"What is it?"

"Well I just wanted to say that any fool can be a father but it takes a real man to be a daddy, and you are a real man, I love being a daddy's girl, I love you daddy." I smiled again, but cried harder pulling my daddy into another hug.

"Haha, you might've outgrown my lap but you will never outgrow my heart I love you too Deja." He pulled away from the hug, gave me a small box, kissed my forehead, and grabbed his bags to get ready to leave.

"Promise me you will be safe."

"I promise, now you be safe here, and stay out of trouble."

"I'll always do my best for you daddy." I faked a smile as I walked away only to cry some more.

"Come on Deja, it's ok." Tara rubbed my back as she guided me into the house, I held on tight to the small box as I went into the house. Once I got inside I walked into my room and sniffed the air, which smelled like my daddy's favorite cologne, Chrome by Azzaro. As I sat on the bed I opened the box only to find a letter, two rings, some earrings, and a necklace. The letter was from my mama and it read,

Dear Deja,

There is a bond between a daughter and a mother, it is so special, like no other.

There is a key between each heart, and a love that nothing will ever part.

A oneness of spirit that no one can see. It is very special between you and me.

You know Deja that was one of my favorite poems. :) Well there isn't much to say here but I love you, I got you the golden heart necklace to let you know that you are forever in my heart, and the star earrings to let you know that you are a star in my eyes, I hope you like it.

Be home soon Beetle, remember when I used to call you that :), stay out of trouble for me okay. Muah I love you~ Your mama, Marietta.

I smiled as I read the letter, thinking of her voice I don't remember much but I do remember her calling me Beetle all the time. My mama was so full of life, but once you go into the service all of that can change, you get accustomed to the gunshots and your hearing fades away, you start to lose your mind and some go crazy, I just hope that it hasn't did anything to my mama.

I picked the necklace up out of the box and slipped it around my neck, while I admired my rings both had something engraved in them one was from my daddy and it said, The greatest gift of all is a daughter like you, and the other one from my mama read, The love between a mother and daughter is forever, I thought that everything was just so beautiful.

I wanted to do a chapter with just Deja's Pov so of course it was short. :)
