Sighing I sat up in my bed and stretch my arms out and yawn. It was eight in the morning on a Monday and I was not ready to go to work. Mondays for me is the worst thing ever because I am always looking for that extra day to just sleep in and just lounge around. Too bad there wasn't an extra day between Saturday and Sunday. But anyways let me get in the shower and get ready for work.
Getting dressed I picked out my usual pencil skirt and blouse. I love wearing my pencil skirts because they are comfortable and professional. No matter what the weather is you can almost guarantee catch me in one. It was rare to see me dressed in anything else.
I double check my appearance in my mirror, once I was satisfied with my looks I grab my purse and phone. Unlocking my iPhone I seen that I message, smiling at the picture I received I smiled back with a kissing emoji and a heart. Locking my phone back up, I headed out the door to my workplace.
Pulling up to the Marriage and Counseling center I took a deep breathe and exhale it. I was not prepare to listen to couples argue all day, but hey this what I went to school for right?
My assistant Logan greeted me with a smile and cup of coffee "Good morning Ms. Knowles how are you?"
I grab the coffee and open up my office and immediately got a whiff of the strawberry fragrance I had put in here "Good morning Logan, I'm fine"
"Well that's good to know. The Jackson are here for their appointment"
"They're here early must want to get this session over with"
Logan chuckled "Maybe, when they came in Mrs. Jackson was looking so pissed off so I'm guessing something else happen"
I shook my head they were a true challenge. Been married for 8 years and the last 3 have been nothing but ups and downs for them. Mostly down but they continue to fight for their marriage.
"I'm going to get settle then I will call you to let them in" Logan nodded her head and walked out to her desk.
I sat down in the chair and started to sip on my coffee. Coffee doesn't wake me up at all but for some reason I feel like I need at least one cup a day. I usually prefer to drink McDonald's frappes but hey I'll settle for the office coffee today.
Grabbing the Jackson's files I went over the last session that I had with them and took some notes on what I wanted to discuss with them. I picked up the phone and called Logan to let her know I was ready for her to send the Jacksons in.
"So how's everything been going?" I ask them once they were settle on the couch.
Mrs. Jackson, she was in her late thirties and is a principal at an elementary school. Mr. Jackson was a history professor at University of Houston and he was in his early forties. The main problem in their marriage was the lack of communication and quality time spent together.
