I got up almost immediately, and turned around to see an unconscious Layla getting dragged down the path and into the bushes by some large creature I have never seen in my life.

"LAYLA!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. Jack got up, and so did Avery. Avery started crying. "We need to follow them!" I said. "We lost Alexis, and now Layla? This isn't good.." I started to run in the direction of where the creature dragged Layla into the bushes.

I found the spot where Layla got dragged. There was marks on the ground, and also big claw prints. I followed the claw prints, but all of a sudden they stopped.

"They don't go on further. They stopped." I quietly said. Jack and Avery looked shocked, as if they couldn't believe the footprints stopped.

"There's no trace of Layla." Avery said. "How are we going to find her now?"

"Wait a minute. If Alexis went missing, and now Layla is too, do you think the same creature that took Alexis just took Layla? It's like that figure is capturing us one by one..." Jack said.

"Well we have to get Layla back now. I just don't know how." Avery said, clearly frustrated.

"Let's try walking in the direction she was dragged." I said.

I took a step into the bitter snow, my boot sinking halfway into the snow. I started off into the woods. We all walked at least thirty minutes before we started hearing the noises again.

"Everyone, take out a weapon. I'm not leaving here without a fight." I said firmly to Jack and Avery. Jack fumbled around in his navy blue bag, then finally pulled out a machete.

"Where the hell did you get that?" Avery asked Jack.

"My dad got it for me as a gift from the gun shop in Maple, right before he.. died." Jack got quiet.

"Jack, I know that must be hard, but just know we are here for you if you need us." Avery comforted Jack. Jack lifted his head up and gave her a quick small smile, before he turned almost as white as the snow. I turned around to what he was gazing at, and a huge creature towered over me. It was dark brown, and had large teeth, like razor blades. It's back had punctures in it, as if something attacked it.

     "Get ready." I said.

I lifted up my dagger, and stabbed the thing about 5 times in the stomach. Jack ran up and decapitated the monster with his machete. It's head came flying off, spraying me with an orange substance. I let out a sigh of relief.

"What the fuck was that thing?" Avery said.

"I don't know. But now that it's dead, we need to find Layla. I think I see a cave in the distance. Let's check there." I stated. "We need to go fast, before it's too late."

I ran as fast as I could through the thick bitter snow. Snow kept going down my boots, and it stung my feet. We kept running, with our heavy bags thumping against our backs as we ran. It was starting to get dark, which meant it was going to get colder, scarier, and more dangerous.

Soon enough we reached the cave, which was much bigger inside. Jack and Avery just stood there, like they were waiting for me to go in first. "I guess I'm going in first..." I said. I took a few steps in, and already darkness surrounded me. "Take out your flashlight Avery." Jack said. Avery did what he said, and flashed the beam of light straight ahead of us.

We walked for a while, which was fine, except the flashlight started to flicker. But before it turned off, Avery said, "Guys? I see light ahead..." She was clearly nervous. "You sure it's not the beam of your flashlight?" Jack snickered. Avery huffed, and ran towards the light. Me and Jack just stayed walking, to tired from todays adventure to run anymore.

Avery reached the light, while we were still very far behind. She just stopped and slowly looked down. She didn't move. "Avery?" Is said, even though we were still a ways back. "There's more." Avery said quietly.

"What?" Me and Jack asked at the same time. Avery turned around, while we held her flashlight at her so we could see her. She was snow white. "The-    Theres more of those....things." We walked to the edge of the cave where she was standing, and about 20 feet down, sure enough, there was a ton of the creatures running around.
