The prince sauntered into the tent like he owned the place. Maybe he did, Miriam didn't know.

He walked towards the second seat for her customers. The shuffling outside alerted her to the presence of probably hundreds of girls thrilled to find out that the prince was going to be at the markets today.

The prince sat down on the chair and introduced himself. "Hello, in the pri..."

"Yes, I know who you are. Oh, sorry, that was probably very rude," she said. She had just offended a prince, probably making a memory of her in his mind forever. Well, she thought, I can take it out again.

"Of coarse you do. Apparently all those girls out there know too," he glanced
behind himself to the entrance of the tent. "I only want the best fortune-tellers for the job," he suddenly whispered. Intriguing.

All Miriam cared about was the money. Not a nice thought, but she needed it, and she knew the prince had it. "How long will the job go for? What is it about?" she asked. She'd never had a long term job before where she was actually working for someone, except for when she worked in the town bakery.

"We can't talk about it here. You can come with me to the castle now."

"But, like, I've kinda got a job to do here," she told him while swooping her hand in a motion to remind him of the people outside. But then Miriam thought, was she really putting the prince second over customers who just wanted to know about their future sex lives? Yeah, she really was. "Fine, ok. I'll come with you."

They got off their chairs, Miriam grabbing a sign that said "Sorry, I'm Closed, Come Again in the Future". She'd made it herself and was very proud of it. As they walked out of the tent, she hung up the sign and followed the prince towards a white horse. It was beautiful. Long white mane, flowing tail. The idea of perfection was right in front of her, weather it was the horse or the prince.

He hopped up on the horse and offered his hand to heave her up. She took it with no second thought and swung her foot over the other side. Then she was whisked away, towards the stone tower of the people she was afraid of.
